It's not only East Coast. East Anglia is also back in the hands of the Government. Apparently the main contender for the EA franchise is Virgin, who i really hope do win it after using their service to Coventry alot recently

OK, well looks like anything related to Nat Ex East Coast is false as they have stated on their own website that it's not true www.nationalexpressgroup.com/nx1/media/news/corp_news/pr2009/2009-07-01c/However, there isn't anything regarding East Anglia, which is making me wonder whether this will be the next division to be released by National Express as there is a huge amount of investment needed on this franchise if you ask me. I will state though, the East Anglia rumours were heard on a local radio station, that being Time FM so they may also be false. May have to do some digging through my dad to find out anything!! EDIT : looks like the franchise will be stripped from Nat Ex by the end of the year after they publicly announced they were planning to default after not being able to re-negotiate the terms of the franchise. In addition to this, the DfT have said that they may STRIP Nat Ex of their franchises (East Anglia and c2c) due to their failure with the ECML, even though they plan to keep hold of the former. Check the report out for yourselves and make your own mind up www.dft.gov.uk/press/speechesstatements/statements/eastcoastfranchise
