Watery Lane between Crittall’s Corner and Queen Mary’s Hospital is very tight as well, so much so that it only uses it towards Bexleyheath. Going towards Orpington it uses the A20. I think the main reason for using Watery Lane in the Sidcup direction is simply to avoid the ridiculous daily peak time traffic on the A20 slip road. The only issue with using Watery Lane in both directions is it would be nigh on impossible getting out at the B&Q end! Watery Lane on the B14 always reminds me of when I had just one American family on my bus. It was dark (so you could see if there was any traffic coming) so I let the bus get up a little bit of speed and the younger members of said family started whooping and cheering and saying ‘go on driver! This is so cool!’ I wonder what they would have made of Cudham Lane on the R5/R10?! That’s hilarious lol

Out of interest, does anyone know what the narrowest (or to your knowledge an extremely narrow) stretch of road a bus travels down in London is? I assume it's something on the W12 given its intense limitations on bus length/type. I doubt it is the W12, I have been on some other roads tighter than the narrow sections on this route.

Its gotta be the R8 surely, even the 9m buses struggle on that route. I think the W4 is also a contender around the Broadwater Farm Estate. And I remember the 394 being a huge squeeze too.

Sometimes I wonder how that route passed its risk assessment for full size buses, it gets very narrow around Downe!

Most vehicles fold their mirrors along there but buses can't really do that

99% sure that’s an Arriva bus and not an Abellio. So could be the 250?

It's highly likely a 250 as you say - not only is it 100% an Arriva T class vehicle but if it happened in Streatham Hill (which could be debated given the paper already got the route wrong), the 250 is the only route it could be It's also no surprise it would happen on a 250 (or even a 109 for that matter) - these two routes go through some very sketchy areas and are well known to carry a sizeable number of undesirables over a number of decades now.

Not a corridor I use very often, but the 50/109/250 north from Croydon very often have an air of menace about them. Given the choice, if heading north from Croydon, I’d use the 468 corridor every time.

To be honest though 50, doesn't really have much issues as it follows the 468 to Heath then Melfort Road till Norbury and then Streatham there's umpteen routes there, it's mainly the 109/250 that have the issues
