To me its a no brainer you cant close the Jubilee Line (Green Pk -Stratford) and the DLR ( Lewisham - Canary Wharf) on the same weekend. Well the powers that be managed this amazing feat of engineering this weekend . 108s coming in to NG from Lewisham rammed, only to find another crowd waiting to get to Stratford (ok it was good entertainment for us on the 132 ;D) Normal occurance at NG with 100 people trying to squeeze on every bus and of course no supervision, so engines switched off. Even 2 women fighting over a seat . Drivers telling me everyone along the route was being left behind due to the loadings at Lewisham, NG and Stratford . Obviously im too clever to be a bus driver ;D ;D.

LOL I agree with you about closing the Jubilee Line between Green Park - Stratford and the DLR from Lewisham - Canary Whraf is "a no brainer". Those two lines provides transport to the South East of London. Did any 108 drivers manage to go nonstop between Poplar and Bromley By Bow? If they did. They must have felt happy going 40-50mph

The Jubilee line was originally only going to be closed Waterloo-Stanmore It was a late change (but why do the engineering teams need to be spread out so far, surely they could have found something to repair/upgrade in the half a line that was closed) Note the change is in red at top on link www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/livetravelnews/realtime/tube/track-closures.pdf

So there was no north/south connection at all. .

Ok time for a rant. No supervision at NG and drivers being threatened & abused all weekend, but at midnight the hit squad were at NG checking drivers log cards, looking for early running etc, sometimes you have to wonder about the priorities in this industry I arrived at NG dead on time, thanks to text messaging ;D ;D.

I Was in North Greenwich on saturday evening, got a ciatro MA9 in fact from Stratford to North Greenwich, which was kind of quick might i add as i knew i wasen't gonna fight to get on the 108. When i got to North Greenwich i saw 108's packed to windscreen, i was waiting at the sainsbury's for a 129 which never came for 30 mins. to go Greenwich and say numerous 108's and saw how packed they where. The Lack of publicity at North Greenwich to show where the replace the trains and show where the rail rep buses where... although it was close to the car park adjacent to the bus station. The service was adquete from what i could see, first was operating it. i had DML41430 Which had picked up a fault with its back doors which couldnt open but was opened by the red button then closed by the driver normally but would not open again at all the stops served. The Marshalls and The odd Wright eclispe S/D's and UNO Ciatros coped i guess on saturday evening i guess.

Apparently the DLR bank branch will be shut for a month from Christmas Eve until late January www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/newscentre/13273.aspxThe Jubilee line is also scheduled to be closed end of December for its new signals to be introduced (there are full Jubilee line closures 25-28 Dec, 2-3 Jan, 9-10 Jan) once again, both lines closed same time

Although, you will have the Beckton - Tower Gateway service, so interchange with the District and Circle will still be available. No doubt the Woolwich-Bank services will be terminating at Canning Town during that period, much like the Tower Gateway ones did when that was shut earlier in the year

The notice mentions replacement bus service. Anyone know who will work it, or the bus routing in the bank area

As for the replacement services, no doubt Ensign will have a large fleet working them, possibly with help from Metroline like when they shut the line at Canning Town - Prince Regent over the May Bank Holiday. Will most probably be sub-contracted to other local Essex Independants like NIBS etc too

If it is OK for a long period replacement not to meet TfL specs, why do TfL agree to double standards ?
