Who does like First? They are definatly one of the worst bus companies in the UK. Definatly should be renamed WorstGroup!! ;D

Definatly should be renamed WorstGroup!! ;D I do ( Only so Greeny doesnt ban me ;D) Na, i like them mainly because they have done wonders to the routes round Romford, like investing in new buses etc and the 365 runs to time when i use it I will have to admit, First London are a pretty good company. Alot of new buses have entered service recently, and ive never really had problems. Its First Out-Of-London that I dont like! ;D |

i go with john first out side of London are no good they are all ways late 2/3 out of 10 buses dont run i am talking as a driver and a passenger there trains are not a lot better well fgw on the pompey to Cardiff line and natex are saying they have a bad name on greyhound sorry about my rant

Well i heard today that First Essex are staging a strike from the 18th - 23rd December. We think we've got it bad with a 24 hour one with ELBG  |

East London are going down hill more strikes to come and other drivers a thameside being pad less than east london wot a crap compony i always see 2 174's together at 6am 25's all together

Thankfully, I've only got one of their routes near me and I don't use it anyway. Metroline are another one which have very rude staff and shoddy maintenance (apologies to any Metroline staff on here but thats how I've seen it). Arriva are very under rated and I actually don't know why. I mean, they do run most of their routes really well and although they do like to keep buses running longer than other companies, they do manage to keep maintained to a decent level. I mean, Arriva Southern Counties have such kind staff and they helped me out when I was travelling around Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone a few months ago. Personally, I've not had any problems with First. I mean, they do seem to have a reputation outside London for not being that brilliant and they always seem to have been the weaker of the big three. |

I've not had much of a problem with ELBG.........until now. The 174 really has gone downhill since going to RM. I have no idea why, but it seemed to have been operated much better at NS. As for First, don't get me started!!! Driving standards are poor, vehicle maintenance is even worse! As for drivers, well, apart from the odd one or two (haven't rode Greeny's yet, but i will ;D), then manners are something that they only hear of on T.V. Arriva though aren't too bad. Agreed, they do like to hold on to vehicles for a long time, and their maintenance can sometimes be lacking, but their drivers are generally very, very polite. I've only had a few bad ones from GY on the 256 and 499, but the rest seem to be very happy to speak to you when you have to. DX are something different though, they're a real mixed bag with either brilliant drivers, or right miserable old gits (and i mean old) |

They are underated! I use the 20 frequently using Y and 03 reg DLAs (and rarely an S-reg), and they are kept in very good condition. Although, this past week I have seen a slight increase in window scratchings, rubbish and noisy brakes. The drivers are also very helpful (one or two are complete b*stards though!!) |
