Arriva have confirmed they are in talks with SNCF about acquiring part or all of the equity of Keolis!!! Wow, these companies are of equal size, what a monster that would create. Kelois have operations in Europe (France, UK, Sweden,Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany), Canada, Australia and Algeria, Arriva already operate in Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom. The major operations of Keolis are in France, where I believe they are the largest operator of French public transport. In the UK, Keolis has rail operations as partners in Go-Via (South Eastern, Southern, London Midland), and with First at TransPennine Express. Do not think they currently have any presence in the UK bus market, although I could be wrong. Could we be seeing extra operators on Go-Via RR work

So Arriva is taking over keolis? If so, then I think it might be a good thing. Seeing as Arriva is a UK company, it will benefit the UK economy (i think).
Arriva are by favourite 'big' company, so good luck to them. ;D

That is one huge takeover!!! I'd hate to be Arriva's accountants if they do get it all, that'll be one big job ;D

Could we be seeing extra operators on Go-Via RR work Arriva already assist Go-Ahead on rail work for Go-Via companies!! One of the regular performers is Southern Counties on Southeastern's franchise.

Seems it is off the cards! ;(
Further to its announcement regarding Keolis SA ("Keolis") on 28 January 2010, Arriva confirms that exploratory preliminary discussions took place with Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français ("SNCF") regarding the possible contribution of all or part of the Keolis transport business into Arriva. No agreement was reached and all discussions have now ceased.

Heard a rumour last night that the deal talks were finished without outcome, however Deutsch Bahn (german rail op) are now in the frame for talks with arriva. This was confirmed in various newspapers today.

This was confirmed in various newspapers today. Did any of the newspapers conform this? ... or just speculate this. The only confirmed news I have seen is Arriva have received an uninitiated approach ... no confirmation as to who from but a lot of speculation points to Deutsche Bahn
