I'm your age, 17! Also studying A Levels. Geography (help!), History (help!), Business, and Media (the only subject I enjoy).
I was going to set up a thread to ask a question, but I might as well ask it here. If you are at a similar age as me and selkent314, what are your plans for the future. Will you get a job in the transport industry? I would like to find a job invloving media, or transport (my two strong points). I would like to work in the transport industry (preferably the bus industry), as I have figured that I might as well try and get a job I enjoy. Anyone in a similar position in terms of wanting to work in the transport industry?

I do Geography, currently on Unit 4 (A2) with the memory game report! ICT (Kill me now) and DT. Hopefully when I leave school, id either like to do a Station Staff job for Southeastern/Southern or ideally find out how to become a Croydon Tramlink driver. Any help with that? I cant find anything about it.

Quite Interesting...I am 17 yrs old as well lol....I am in University..one year early!! When I was younger..from around 3 - 11, I wanted to be a Train Driver..then from 11 - 14..bus driver lol..but those jobs are in my mind because I am enthusiastic about Transport to a certain degree...some people might die to ride on a routemaster..but I haven't reached that far as yet lool. But if you have the opportunity to further your education to a associates or even a bachelors degree.. why not go for it and make something out of life.... But yh, I done CXC/CSEC (Caribbean Examination Council) exams in May + June 2009..got my results in midAuguat 2009..my grades were quite sufficient for the University. I graduated from High School (yr 11/Grade 11 in July 2009)...one year later than the year which I would had left High School if still in England, due to the Jamaican educaton system different. Therefore..I done yr 9 twice. One time at West Hatch (2005 - 2006) and Jamaica, at a school called Belair in Jamaica (2006 - 2007). I started University... Northern Caribbean University in late August 2009. It is a adventist University..but I am not actually a adventist... well 40% of the people are not..according to the university lol... I am doing a Bachelor of Science in Teacher Education, emphasis (major) in Biology and minor in Geography...I was going to do Social Studies as a minor..but they said if I was going to do Social Studies as a Minor, my bachelor would be a Art, since Social Studies is not a science subject... Before..I was going to do Political Science..but the thing which put me off is that your private life is exposed too much. So I guess you know what; I want to be/studying lol! I am also 17.. In the last year of sixth form (year 13) Subjects I do are; Geography - My favourite subject and the subject I hope to pursue next year at University and probably get a job in one day. Alex & Selkent314, are your Geography courses with AQA? My Geography is - the topics I'm learning this year are 1) Plate Tectonics and associated hazards 2) Weather and climate & associated hazards and 3) Contemporary Conflicts and Challenges. Second subject is ICT - Probably the subject which I dislike the most. Have done it since Year 7 but since last year it has became too related to businesses and TBH I'm more interested in what makes computers work inside etc. And my third subject which I do is Business Studies - Probably the subject which I find easiest. Currently in the middle of a long bit of coursework which I hate lol Didn't do it at GCSE level though- There are only 5 people in our class !

I do do AQA Geography, but I do completely different topics; 1) Rivers, floods and management, 2) Health issues, and 3) Population change. I also do Business like you, which i do find quite interesting

I'm 21 (since just over a month ago ;D) and currently working at Iceland in Brixton. I did all my GCSE's at secondary school at St. Joseph's College (and failed them) so I went to Croydon College to retake some, passed English, Humanities and Business Communications. Enroled for 2 year National Diploma BTEC Business (and retook Maths for the third time which I passed) and ended up with MMM (overall a Merit). Was going to go Greenwich Uni but changed my mind and decided to start working. Something I would like to do is be the person best remembered for bringing down the army of hybrid buses ;D ;D

I'm 23 and just started my final year at UEL (University of East London) doing a BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree. Got a presentation today to get a mentoring placement with Credit Suisse (investment banking), but would rather work in the financial department of either a bus company or, wait for it, TfL (well, they will pay for me to get a professional qualification too ;D)
