Finally, I believe that it was Steve who first mentioned about the PSA's can sometimes operate the DLR from the front. Ys, that is true. I remember from in the late 90's, until at least 5 years ago, the PSA's use to and probably still do, allow people to open and close the doors at the station, especially little children/kids. I got to do once about 9-10 years ago lol. This happend to me twice when I was younger. First time, the PSA said I could push the horn, but for some reason I was being shy and didn't want to do it. Second time, the PSA let be push the horn when another DLR train passed, and let me open/close the doors. Happy memories! ;D Back to the more serious discussion about suicides, John definatly has a point, which i didn't realise. If someone wants to kill themselves, they can easily do it with drivers or without.

It's a fear many drivers have when driving. Another incident i heard through my dad was at Ilford. Anyone who knows the GER will know of the bridge at Ilford where the up/down slow crosses over the up/down main at the A406. Well, someone somehow managed to get ON the bridge, ready to jump onto the overheads. I know its not the situation being described, but as you said alex, if someone is intent on going, then they'll do it in any way they can!!

Not Suprised, Suicide and suicide attempts where a frequent occurance Between Maryland - Ilford, i've noticed at the london end of Ilford platforms 2&3 where the York Road Footbridge exit is there are Samarition signs with an advice number on it to talk.

Those really do make me laugh when i go through. Especially seeing as the only time you can see them is when you're on a 315 stopping service They really make you feel like killing yourself sometimes lol

Heard similar Samaritans posters had been put up at Mile End LUL station... though I never saw/noticed any when I used to travel there daily Not Suprised, Suicide and suicide attempts where a frequent occurance Between Maryland - Ilford, i've noticed at the london end of Ilford platforms 2&3 where the York Road Footbridge exit is there are Samarition signs with an advice number on it to talk. Mile End is strange...it looks really dark and dingy, certainly not a nice place to see a suicide, especially as it is quite an open station, so many people would be able to see it.

Regarding the driveless LU trains, I would prefer if there was a driver, even though the driver does not have much to do. As what someone stated, what happens if someone jumps infront of the train. There would be almost certainly no chance of stopping the train in time, but I guess that depends on the speed of the train when approaching stations. For example the Central Line, it approaches most stations pretty fast, unlike the District Line, based on my opinion! Sorry, can't agree with you on that one in any shape or form. My dad has an incident while driving a 315 into Romford a few years back where someone jumped in front of him. He was a stopping service too, so was already braking heavily. Thankfully he missed him, but the point is, no matter what speed you're doing, or how quickly you see them, the chances of being hit are all the same. Everyone has their own reaction time speeds, plus you have the chance of human error occuring. In fact, i don't think you could use the arguement of jumpers as any basis to stop this type of conversion occuring As you say if someone jumps the chances of stopping is for all practicable purposes about zero at least in the underground sections. With better visability in the open sections there is probably a small chance of stoppng depnding on the speed
