As for the new one, design wise i think it looks like a blown up fiesta! Was going to say the rear looks like the new fiesta, must admit I prefer the lights on the present model (I know your not a fan of the the front lights and indicator position ) The interior does look good, but I bet they don't move the handbrake for the right hand drive market takes some getting used to I can tell you and no I don't have a ST just a plain boring Focus (I'm a family man ;D)

Ok... Im a little scared to write anything through fear of being wrong...
But I'd like to give my opinions...
I have to say I quite like the new Focus ST. I know it looks like a Fiesta on steroids but I like the Fiesta too so there!!
I liked the first Focus, Not too keen on the Mk2 untill the most recent facelift where I think it's ok. I agree it's a shame they've ditched the T5 engine (I'll miss the angry spitfire noise it makes!!) but I do understand why with the tightening emmisions regs and fuel prices it needs to be affordable to run for average joe (Fords long time target market)
I'm a fan of Ford and fast Fords. I did some working out the other day that since I passed my driving test I've had...
1 Nissan 1 Austin 1 Renault 2 Rovers 3 Peugeots 3 Vauxhalls 16 Fords (Including an original Y reg MK3 XR3i and 3 Mondeo ST24's and we currently have 2 Mondeo's)
I'm currently deciding on the next car and it's between an ST220 and a 3.0 4WD Jag X type
Love anything Cosworth if i was a lottery winner there would be no Italian supercars on my drive but an early T3 "big turbo" Escort Cosworth. Turbo lag is one of my favourite sensations after having had a go in a 412BHP Escort a few years ago... Nothing... Nothing... Nothing... FULL BOOST!!!!!!! Change gear... I would also have a selection of 80's and 90's Fords
brief list... 2.8i special Capri (One of the last of the line ones) 2.8i Ghia X Granada Mk2 Mk 1 Sierra XR4i Mk 2 Sierra XR4x4 S1 RST Another MK3 Xr3i Fiesta RST A Complete set of Cosworths Both (so far) Focus RS Mondeo ST200 (Limited edition saloon with the Blue/Black Recaro's) Mk 3 Cortina (not a fast ford but I just like them)
As much as I admire them I don't really go for the old Rear wheel drive Escorts. I'm just too young to remember them (I'm 30) hence the love of 80's and 90's Fords
I'm not a religious man but I do pray towards Boreham every sunday.

I have never driven the ST220, so can offer no opinion. However, I have driven the full range of X Types, and the 4WD makes all the others in the range mere Mondeos! ;D It is definitely a vehicle that would make any adolescent youth behave in a way that would make their parents blush! I have long been a fan of 'Dagenham dustbins' ;D ;D, having driven every model of Cortina ever built, including the Lotus, and my particular favourite, the 1600E, a real wolf in sheeps clothing!

I'm kinda having a heart vs head dilemma I love the Mondeo and I know it would be the perfect car but I also love the Jag. The only problem is I know the jag has some reliability problems especially the transfer box on the 4WD system. Where as I'm currently the owner of a Mk3 Mondeo I know where I stand with one and I've owned 4 V6 Mondeos as well so i know the problems with the engines (plastic water pump blades and head gasket blowing by no 1 cylinder but I think they sorted them out with the 3 litre in the ST) but the jag is a bit of an unknown I love everything about them but I don't want to spend 5K on a car then have to spend £1500 in a year to replace the transfer box!! Heart says Jag, Head says Mondeo (wife says Mondeo... Can you guess what I'll probably get!!! ;D )

I have had Mk7, Mk9 and the dangerous Mk1 (with the narrow rear track), and ALL were let down at one time or another by the box! Some things never change! ;D

Can you guess what I'll probably get!!! ;D ) Oh, it's comments like these which make me happy to be single and young ;D I plan, after graduating, to get a good car. Searched online and managed to find a car for around £20k, second hand that goes from 0-60 in 4.9 secs......... .......can you guess what it is yet?? Aston Martin DB7 Done all the initial outlay projections, and I think after a year, I can have all my bills settled down to a level where I can start thinking about getting it. Or maybe even a Vantage or DB9 if the price is right

but I like the Fiesta too so there!! As do I, infact I would have got a (new shape) Fiesta instead of my Focus apart from the fact they wanted £3k more for one in the same spec as my Focus Ok the Fiesta would have been brand new and my Focus was 6 months old, but only 24 (yes thats 24) miles on the clock but £3k more!!!! As for cars owned, I've had 1 Mk 2 Ford Escort. 1 Mk 3 (I think) Mini Metro 1 Pegeout 106 (limited edition) 1 Mk 2.5 (basically Mk 2 but facelifted) Focus. Not bad considering I've had a licence for nearly 20 years!!!!!

I'll decide on that when I get as old ;D Saying that, 24 and a half is getting too close to a quarter century Bighat, a T512 Coupe.....hmmm, not a bad idea actually ;D In all seriousness, I would LOVE to get my hands on one of the ex-East London based VN's in a few years time, but that's for a separate topic
