I've recently found this blog, where a group of people are attempting to use every bus route in London end to end. Its not from an enthusiasts point of view, so its interesting to see London buses from a different perspective. They are currently up to route 112. It will be interesting to see if they do the less frequent routes, such as the school routes, mobility routes and Night routes. Here's the link: londonbusesonebusatatime.blogspot.com/

Been viewing that since they started Interesting (as you say) to read accounts of end-to-end journeys from a non-enthusiast perspective. I admire them for spending their time riding every route... not something I'd do personally, not these days anyway. Would definitely recommend a read.

Fascinating. I could easily lose myself for a few hours reading that! It's nice to hear about some of the nooks and crannies of London that I've never- or rarely- been to. It's knowledgeable- but not patronising, and nicely written with some lovely gentle wit, and it's positive despite some of the less salubrious parts of London they pass through!

I've just spent half an hour reading it and I must say that it's wonderful! I really like how they documented the numerous landmarks and sights along each route, as well as their personal thoughts. Speaking of which, their reviews of the 109, 29, 53 and 20 really caught my attention.

I'll have to wait a long time until I can read about my other local routes ;D

Loved the review of the 103!! Btw, those "metal structures" pictured are actually gas containers. In fact, during WW2, they were apparently bombed The 101's report was very good too, very accurate. Shame they missed the part about UEL students being on board ;D The 86 was abit, well, nice actually. I was expecting it to be more abusive about the route in general! The 66 one shocks me a little. The stretch along the A12 between Gants Hill and Romford is actually not a "sole route" but joined by the 296 and 396. Just goes to show people don't look at bus stops ;D Have to say, they're bloody good reads though, even if I should be doing graduate applications rather than reading blogs

Very interesting blog that, didnt read every review but only the routes i know Same here... I'm waiting for the routes I actually drive!!! (Hoping they don't actually travel on my bus and say somthing like "f**k me what a wild ride... There was a driver change mid route then it all calmed down I think the first driver was finished for the day" Edit: Mods... Doesn't this deserve moving to the London bus section at the top of the forum?? After all it IS about London Buses and that section does advertise itself as: General Bus Discussion Talk about any topic about London buses And that is exactly what that blog does.

I've just read their blog on Route 8 and you can't get any more detail then they have given. Despite the announcements for museums etc. ;D Going to read the 106 blog in a minute or two.
