Sorry guys I got ANOTHER rant (it's a red letter day today ); however this one's not bus-related so I posted it into the Off-Route board. Is it me or do the lazy people of this world seem to get through life so easily, while hard-working people (like you and me) get less in return or even nothing? I'll give an example here... My sixth form (no names mentioned here for obvious reasons). Many students here are plain lazy or simply can't be bothered, and you rarely see them studying. Most of the time they're out at parties getting pi$$ed or something like that... Meanwhile there's me working my arse off (losing sleep at times ) studying hard (both at home and at school). Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the best students in my sixth form (according to my teachers). When it comes to exams, those lazy students always get the top grades somehow Me, however, I do really well, but not as well as the lazy lot While they're getting A's and stuff I'm only getting B's Though saying that I got A's last year ;D I'm not saying these lot shouldn't go and have fun at all, but there's times for that and then there's time for studying. I'm not jealous of anyone, and I understand that there are some that work really hard and get the grades they deserve, but I don't see how some who just laze about/scrounge off others get better benefits than those who have to work hard for it. Rant #2 over for today ;D ;D

Hmmm, don't want to put you off, but as well as how hard you work, there's also how you work.

Better than not doing anything. I suppose you might want to look at what you do to learn/revise. For reference I just sit and read a book cover to cover and eat a few past papers...

For reference I just sit and read a book cover to cover and eat a few past papers... That's exactly what I do... But for some reason what I learn never sinks in, and when the day of the exam comes everything's gone...

Why not try something I suggested to someone when they were studying for an exam. Try and find something to relate the material to and write it down on cards/bits of paper and put them around the room or read the cards.

Some people are probably more suited to kinesthetic learning. What happens with me is that everything starts leaking after an exam ...

I suppose that could work, seeing as I am a visual learner.

I'm sure you'll do well in your studies. What subject are you doing? I will tell you something and its not to put you off, but nowdays, especially in IT, it's not what you know but who. I spent 4 years in college only to wind up on a poxy YTS course (£35 a week back in the day). Lots of uni peeps end up being unable to get into their desired field as they may have the knowledge, but lack the practical experience. A lot of the undergraduate jobs are low paid, like £15k. Sounds like you are applying yourself well to learning, so I'm sure you'll do well. Study in small chunks, like 45 mins to an hour, but don't try and sit up all night trying to revise. I used to use a highlighter and mark suitable paragraphs in the text book. If you never choose to use your brain, there's plenty of jobs in PC World... ;D ;D ;D
