After a long gap (my apologies) another quiz
I have included a mixture of levels, some easier and a couple of very hard so that quiz lasts more than 24 hours
1) Which four garages did London Forest have (name and one or two letter garage code), and for the 3 still in use which companies now operate them.
2) Two bus garages opened about 1981, both next to or under viaducts. Name them, and their garage codes.
3) For each of the new garges in (2) name (and code) the garages that closed
4) Three garages in south & E London have codes starting with T, what company did the T prefix come from. Bonus, name the 3 garages
5) After bus deregulation, one company HR Richmonds garage subsequently got a shadow code, what is that code and what town is it in.
6) Arriva's garage at Barking is known as DX, what was DX named after.
7) Three garages are currently operated by 2 companies, name each and give both codes for each, bonus : there was another until a yaer or two ago, name and codes for this as well
8)Amersham garage was rapidly re-coded MA around the time of its opening, but had been known by another code during construction, what was this and whty did it change.
9) Name all the garages that have officially had a capacity of over 200 buses (note definition has changed over time, in 1930s was 270 sq feet, later 300 sq feet, now buses are bigger) so might apply for only part of its life
10) Where was temporary garage CK (and what had it been previously used for) which was used for a few months during rebuilding of Chelverton Road
11) Romford (RD, later renamed Hornchurch) when built was in an area that was developing so was expected to be expanded, consequently only front and sides where proper brick, what was temporary back wall originally made of
12) Bull Yard (BY) was a proposed garage in late 1930s (but second world war stopped it), What was name of garage that finally opened on the site in May 1951, and when did it subsequently close.
13) A garage at Chadwell Heath was planned to open early 1990s, but was not built (because cost of cleaning contaiminated Brownfield land didn't happen then) which 3 garages (names and codes) would it have replaced
14) WS garage code was named after which company, bonus : name the 3 (by take-overs etc) companys using it since
15) Of the twenty trolleybus garages, 15 were converted to diesel buses, name (and code) the four that were closed
16) Of the twenty trolleybus garages, 15 were converted to diesel buses, 4 closed, what not London Transport service did the other subsequently get used for, where was it, and what was the service or who did it operate for.
17) A former tram depot loses its last route this summer, name the garage and its code
