What is allocated to the 28 for it's V allocation?

What is allocated to the 28 for it's V allocation? It doesn’t have a V allocation, all allocated to JE for daily cleaning and light work V does the maintenance so one bus per day is timetabled to run to V, and similarly one starts from V. I am guessing therefore the 23 buses (covering 28, 639 and 670) visit V once every 3-4 weeks

V has used some of its buses in first few weeks as not all of VH 45101-23 are back from refurbishment yet, I think 45103, 4, 7 still awaited

Brief Summary: VH45101-20 = Route 28 VH45121-23 = Route 639/670 VH45124-31 = Route 418* VH45132-48 = Route 71.* VH45145-52 = Route 116 VH45153-54 = ? (TV) VH45155 = ? (FW) VH45156-62 = Route 481 With the 16 reg I imagine the first part of the batch is for route 85, then the H91 and then the last few for route 18 alongside the 66 and 67 reg. * I’ve been hearing these are the correct fleet movements for the 418/71 but subject to confirmation. My guess is that Sounds good, currently VH45153-45154 are part of the 85 but if VH45182-45183 return to TV, this could leave the other two plus VH45155 as the 613, 662 & 671 buses as they were previously. That would leave exactly 16 for the H91 out of VH45163-45166 & VH45184-VH45194 Could still be some tweaking of allocations as those for 71, 418, 481 are due to be refurbished for their new contracts, I think the 481 batch have just been done, but maybe the others will await 65 getting BCEs to release a refurb pool I suspect 45132-48 (17 buses) is wrong for 71 as it only needs 12 buses (+ spares), probably 45132-44

As mentioned, the V allocation is one of the JE buses starting in service but returning to V at the end of the day for maintenance and leaving V the next day into service and going back to JE at the end of the day. It doesn’t have a specific VH, it’s whatever bus has been on the rota for scheduled maintenance.

It may extend the life of a few SPs as a refurb float of course. Whilst there has been a lot of shuffling it does mean the oldest VHs are now allocated to what could be 7 year contracts starting this year which ensures their retention for 10+ years. Potentially nearer 15 years for the 13 reg on the 28.

Plenty of 13-reg VHs appear daily on the E3 and H91, with plenty of 15/16 reg ones on the 28. For example, today, there are 5x 13 reg VHs on the H91 and 1 on the E3. There were 3 on the E3 yesterday, and 3 on the H91 - I saw them all! with 4 of the 15/16-reg batch of VHs on the 28. I don't think V always strictly send back a 13-reg VH to JE after maintenance. Spoke to a few H91 drivers, and they all seem to prefer taking out a 13-reg VH over an ADH.

Of course might stay a bit longer than contract, doing a few months (or even couple of years) on a route approaching tender, or if new buses delayed. By time routes like 18, 116, H91 contracts expire, if VHs get used again. Actually I suspect the VHs will end their days on routes operated from certain garages. From memory I have heard that TV layout makes it unsuitable for chargers, and I think RP only has about 6 years left on lease. No one is going to electrify these until something more long term is agreed

My guess is that This would leave the 116 three short. More likely that the 71 will have a mix of 45127-138 and 164-166 perhaps. The 85 moving in to FW may mean they can send some of that allocation to V to link with 45182-192 for the H91. In general they have tried to keep allocations on the VHs fairly tidy. Wonder where the surplus LTs from the 148 reduction will go ?

Wouldn't be surprised if route 203 is converted to double deck using the surplus LT's, has the tree problem been sorted? because wasn't it mentioned on here that were low trees hanging on the line of route that prevented DD's? Also route 116 would be a very good candidate.

Not a daily allocation but a regular one, it appears the 203 can now take DDs.

Just saw this route branding on the back of DLE3 - just wondered why its there and what route its for..
It's definitely not for the 110 Could be the H98 except now it uses DDs - from its SD days?
Also here is no route branding anywhere else on the bus, just this on the rear window - seems a bit bizarre...unless it was all removed except for this on the back...

Yes it is a remnant of the H98 branding, part of the Hayes area branding trial. The H98 was still single-deck then.
