I just used the converter on my fone. 115Kw = 154.2175403 hp precisely lol. So 154BHP which is very underpowered for 11.1m imo. Iirc (correct me if im wrong) the original transdev OVs and elbg versa's have the same engine but are 10.4m so have much less weight to carry around on the same power. 8.9 - 10.2m enviro 200s have 140bhp and the 10.8m ones have 160bhp to me that is saying because the bus is bigger it needs more power. Also super enviro 200s aka 11.3m are fitted with a 6 cylinder engine as standard which is rated at 215bhp?.

The reason why its underpowed is I believe Mercedes don't offer higher BHP engines for the Versa, shame they didn't go for Cummins Versas, not only do they sound nice but they have been known to jumpstart cars, just like the graceful old Volvo B10M .

the thing is youre all talking BHP, when you really need to be talking torque!! Its not the BHP that pushes the vehicle along, it's the Torque that the engine produces. The engine concerned may have 154BHP or thereabouts but it may be producing sufficiant or indeed more than enough torque to drive the vehicle.
As the old saying goes, BHP wins Respect, Torque wins Races!!!

Skoda Octavia VRs has 200 bhp, the diesel version 170 Still dont beat a Focus ST - £225 bhp standard, (potential for up to 280 bhp), Focus RS - 305 bhp Standard (up to 350 bhp with a mountune performance upgrade). All this from the same engine!!!

That is true egg, torque is for getting you off the line and upto speed, bhp is for top end speed but also weight can have its toll on these kind of things because the engine itself is going to have to be pushing more weight off the line compared to a 10.4m version. so I still think these buses will struggle, how much torque does this mercedes engine produce. Example is the new bmw m3 4.0ltr v8 produces 295lbs/ft of torque and 414bhp while the new audi rs5 4.2ltr v8 produces 317lbs/ft of torque and 444bhp yet both cars still do 0 - 62 in 4.6secs because the bmw is lighter cant remember by how much but a fair bit so needs less torque to get it off the line. There is another example is the bmw m3 gtr 4.0ltr v8 which is more uprated than standard has 333lbs/ft of torque and 444bhp, 0 - 62 is 4.4secs vs the porsche carrera gt3 rs 3.8ltr flat 6 also has 444bhp but 317lbs/ft of torque, 0- 60 is 4.1secs again because the porsche is lighter.
As dave iirc was saying on the route 96 scanias thread about how he feels the scanias are gutless well they have alot of torque due to the 9.4ltr engine but only 230bhp. He also mentioned that his coach has 380bhp which im guessing it probably has a big engine with lots of torque but says it is slow off the line but when it gets upto speed it goes like......

A guy thought 305bhp wasnt enough for his fast ford so he took it to a ford dealer where they chipped the engine along with some other enhancements apparently which voids your warranty (he obviously thouht it was worth it), and they took the power upto 368bhp on a front wheel drive car that is nuts.

The N270UD (270bhp) Scania's at Brighton aren't much faster and only slightly more comfortable due to the Esteban seating.
