Actually saddens me to see them run with a bus in that state, They could do so well with the X5. I mean a lick of paint and even proper destination blinds (I mean surely they can afford £300 for a set ) would make you actually want to use it. it really does yet if they keep turning out vehicles like this, well, it won't last long!! Neither will TWH last long ;D

I have to agree. The route has been running for long enough now for them to have got at least make shift blinds sorted. The X5 has so much potential, it really does yet if they keep turning out vehicles like this, well, it won't last long!! Yet they're happy to waste money on routes like the D1.....go figure!! Exactly, I mean the X5 is a brilliant route, The only thing I would personally change is to send it the 375 route to PB then to Abridge and cut through to Loughton and back to its route instead of running through fields (I think it does, Not sure) it'll have more chance of attracting extra passengers, Sure it'll add more time to the journey but you could put an extra bus out to cater for it (And it'll still be quicker than the old 500 probably!) Failing that, Actually make the Buses look presentable and half decent. Heck I'd even go up to Loughton with a bucket and sponge and clean the buses if it made them look better, Might not seem like it but I`m all for TWH doing well And well, Adding the school journeys to the X5 is just plain stupid Its even more off putting, Especially as the main passengers on the X5 would be the OAPs etc going to Romford for shopping etc, And we all know how kids behave on buses and it'll surely turn them off from using it. Just needs some thought, That`s all

If the X5 goes via PB, it would add some more time to the timetable (which looks quite tight as it is), but it probably would get some more passengers that way though. It currently goes via Chigwell Row, and before the X5 this area had no direct bus service to Romford or Debden/Loughton. Although, I have no idea how many people from Chigwell Row are using the service. Being in Canterbury atm, has made me realise that presentable buses are very important. Stagecoach have a well turned out fleet with prominent route branding. I agree that route branding is not always good, but it seems to have worked with Stagecoach East Kent. I'm also all for TWH doing well. Their customer service, in my experience, has been very good. Drivers are mostly friendly, and TWH have always replied to my emails. Plus, i'm much more keen on independents being successful. The south-west Essex area could do with some decent independents.

Thought i'd give an update on TWH. They seem to be improving their fleet at the moment. They recently aquired an ex-Ensignbus Dart/Marshall R621VEG (also ex-MTL DML21) , which has gained a smart blue/gold livery, as seen here: www.harlowride.co.uk/images/TWH%20R621VEG2.jpgIt has also gained traditional destination blinds and three-track number blinds (which I prefer to digital TBH). Also, apparently ex-Ensignbus R619VEG is also going to join the TWH fleet, to replace that tatty ex-london central Dart SLF/Pointer R447LGH.
