If the ULEZ is extended to the north circular road the buses will have to be Euro VI. In that case, an existing Euro 4 and 5 buses can be modified to Euro 6 in order to comply with the ULEZ. They have already stated that they will acquire 2 buses from dealer stock. They will obviously look for vehicles that can be upgraded.

I suspect Sullivan had not yet decided which buses to acquire for the 603, so 2009 was put down as being the oldest buses that TfL would accept for the contract. If they get something newer (and I hope they do), the buses will still be compliant. No point promising 2012 buses only to end up buying 2011 buses. If the ULEZ is extended to the north circular road the buses will have to be Euro VI. The extended ULEZ is London wide for buses, coaches & lorries - other vehicles are only affected if within the North & South Circular Roads.

Good grief where do they get these drivers from? If you can't manage Staines to Thorpe Park without doing that.......well! That said it's by no means the first one.

I can only presume the driver forgot to take the alternative route that avoids the bridge - thankfully the people are ok. The damage looks quite less severe than I thought so presumably he realised it was too low when it was too late as apposed to just driving through it and being stopped by the force of impact.

Is the 950 not meant to be a single decker route tho??? It is officially a single decker route but has used deckers on many occasions - these take the alternative routing that avoids the low bridge.

If Route 603 doesn’t receive any buses out of DN33776 - 33777, 33782 - I’m sure 9545 - 9558 are going off-lease (heard it on some source) and two from there could go to SM. I don’t know where 2009 buses came from unless 9545 - 9558 remain and replace some buses at QB or remain at WL - to then withdraw some 94**’s I suspect Sullivan had not yet decided which buses to acquire for the 603, so 2009 was put down as being the oldest buses that TfL would accept for the contract. If they get something newer (and I hope they do), the buses will still be compliant. No point promising 2012 buses only to end up buying 2011 buses. With some 11reg WVL’s at Ensign - Sullivans could pick those up and use them for the 603.

Depending on how many more a withdrawn, this may rule out WVLs being used on the 104/304.

Saw one of Sullivan's Enviro 400s blinded for the 299 - can the 299 take DDs?
