I imagine the bus cut from the 605 journey will probably become a commercial bus & replace something. Are there any changes to the 628/688 in the afternoon? If there is then yes it would be a saving. You could definitely remove a 653 journey in the afternoon as they always seem to bunch anyway because of how they are timed. One 628 journey will pass to the 688. But then you have the 683 which is being increased from 2 morning journeys to 3 morning journeys and 2 afternoon journeys to 4 afternoon journeys. Which is why I was unsure it was about saving money. For a new combined TVR of 27 for all the school routes you could have 4 spares, and then could offload 5 Es anyway (E60-64 because they have not been refurbished).

Note that Sullivan purchased some ex-Metroline TEs during lockdown to cover school extras (combination of 56/08/58 reg) - but have not since been withdrawn, so could be suitable for the 84's new allocation (as well as coincidentally being identical to the current TEs used at PB). Also the 605 & 629 are due PVR reductions soon, which may release 2-3 Es or DSs.

Just off topic, will Sullivan get a new trainer bus? DE30/31 would've perfect for the role.
TB1 has got an expired MOT so imagine that's been scrapped.

I will be honest I am happy the 84 are getting deckers. Assuming current fleet for 84, will be withdrawn either sold or used for driver training.

E57 (SN13 CGZ) is out on the 549, I think AE18 may have been subbed/gone mechanical.

This is a message posted by Dean on FB regarding their take up of the 84.
We currently have four E400's in a paint shop in Kent. These being E35 (SN59AWG), E36 (SN59AWH), E37 (SN59AVR) & E59 (LX08DXW). E58 will be swapped over next week. Been a slight delay at the painters due to the high volume of work they are under. Our red fleet are being painted at Truck Align & WS Coachworks (Welham Green). The Commercial fleet at Payne's Aylesford, Kent. Hopefully one of the E400's will be ready on Friday afternoon (1/4), however it will need to visit the workshop for stickers, ETM base plate & an inspection before it can be used. As a result none of the planned E400s will be available on Saturday. A secondary problem is E35-E37 have Smartblinds currently. They will need to be stripped out before they can be used. Hanover are booked for next week, but with the painters delay we might have to push this back so that all three are done together. E58/59 already have Hanover kit. Therefore WVL1, ELV1 & DEL1 have received printed blind inserts and will be used together with WVL2-4. Next week is the start of the school holidays so we have plenty of buses available. Lastly - we do not intend to run the Routemaster on Saturday. Hopefully we will get a chance to do this later in the year.

Sullivan Buses green WVL4 (FJ57 CZE) has gained route 84 branding on its nearside between-deck advertising panel. Here's a photo, it's the best one (the only one!) I can find. flic.kr/p/2ncU4nR
