The fleet numbers for the new buses have been announced on the website:
Note that all the buses are listed as awaiting collection. According to the website, they will be on other services before then. This probably includes the existing TfL school routes (626,628,653,683 and 688), and also, rail replacement services. Keep an eye-out towards the summer for these!

It seems DS52 (not my pic) was spare at Rickmansworth with DS53 spare at Wembley Park on the Metropolitan Line Rail Replacement today, I am looking forward to seeing these branded with new blinds.

What's replacing the V reg Tridents since the Omnicity DD's will be for TfL work? Looks like there may issues, I've calculated that 11 DDs are required for non-TfL work. At least 5 are school buses. TfL DDs From my last calculation (before the withdrawal was announced), they would still be short of two iBus fitted vehicles (info from LVF) for the services on Tues and Thurs due to the extra JFS buses PM only (covered by TNs probably). This leaves minimal spares.
I'm not sure how it's going to work. They'll manage, maybe?

From what i've interpreted from the Sullivan Buses Facebook Group;
The 'new' Scania Omnicities will act as short term cover for the departing ALX's, as they aren't needed for TFL service requirements until October, although they're due to receive new blinds, some currently are receiving new blinds, some retain their original Leyton blinds.
Sullivan Buses will weigh up their options before purchasing long term replacements for the departing ALX's.
Although, i wouldnt be surprised to see Sullivan's in the midst of the London Underground Victoria line replacement later this summer, with the amount of surplus buses they'll have, as a result of the schools being out.

We're talking 32 DDs available, so we can expect them to stick an oar in!

I don't know where you got your figure of 32 from, when Sullivans also operate a number of Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) services; Plus I imagine the Victoria Line Replacement will be tendered to companies, although with a high number of surplus' buses, they could run a fair share.

Out of term SD PVR is c.5, and DD c.5. That's still 27, plus routemasters a possibility!

Don't think that rule applies to NR; as United Transit "LU" Still put VA's on Greater Anglia rail replacement.

Indeed, National Rail is basically anything applies although main routes seem to have an express rail replacement service operated with low floor buses and a all stopping rail replacement service operated with step entrance buses.

Exceptions are occasionally made for small numbers of heritage buses - Tube strikes, London Bridge extras - but there would be a need for specific approval from TfL.
