Dont tar us all with the same brush! As a cyclist in the suburbs, I obey traffic lights, allow the bus to pull out if he is indicating rather than just go around and where safe to do so I will pull over to allow buses to pass me (although I usually catch them at their next stop and go around again!). Whilst on a bus the other week during the morning rush at the Elephant some of the cyclists behaviour and road 'sense' was terrifiying! Chris I have no problem with the majority of cyclists, it's the ones that have no road sense that I have problems with...I have had them literally stop in front of me or zig zag down the road....the other night I had one come from the inside lane at London Road right across the front of me at the Elephant an castle roundabout, as I was already in the outside lane I wash;t able to go round him so I moved to the inside (as it was almost hugging the outside curb) then as I we went to turn down Newington Butts he cut back across the front of me again!!!! He then had the cheek to have a go at me!!!! You should try getting through Elephant in the AM peak - it's like Saigon some mornings! Mind you it's not as bad as when I was on the 19 and had to put up with the Bikeys down along Rosebery Avenue and Theobalds Road as they really were arrogant, In fact I found a lot of the people on that route like that too which leads me on to an unrelated question.....do any fellow South Londoners find North Londoners to be arrogant [expletive removed]'s? Moz

Moz Most of those Islington tree-hugging Eco types who cycle are ignorant, lol - especially cycle couriers ;D but they're not representative of all of us up North back in the day, one girl from Beckenham I liked wouldn't go out with me b'cos I was from North London, she sneered

Problem is though, that too many other cyclists are spoiling it for the rest of the very, very few cyclists who obey the road laws and other road users. I'm only a pedestrian and I can't stand cyclists because anytime time I wish to cross when the green man shows, one or more decide that they are allowed to run red lights and then have the cheek to tell me I'm wrong when I shout at them as I'm crossing during the green man phase. I've been extremely close to kicking some of them off their bikes. They guy who runs Addison Lee is clearly wrong on a lot of the stuff he talks about but one thing where I could agree with him is introducing taxes and proper licensing for cyclists - as long as it helps reduce the number of them flouting traffic laws!

Vjaska, when I went on holiday to Switzerland as a kid, I remember cyclists had numberplates fitted to their bikes (at the mudguard or on the rear fork near the light) I can't stand it when the selfish few cycle thru red lights (or even get off and wheel the bike thru the red light, smh : , recently I have seen cyclists start to behave themselves more, which is a good trend. Now all we need is Addison Lee drivers to improve as well - but I can't see that happening. These poor souls are working 14 hour days in some cases (when they're not parked at the roadside feverishly cleaning their Galaxy with a chamois cloth or hanky before the next job : They need to bring back Cycling Proficiency tests at school, and add more cycle lanes

Trust me mate, it's more than a few down here. It's an everyday occurance along Brixton Hill & Brixton Road

What makes me laugh is the way the chairman is trying to make out they are the same as a Taxi...No there not they are a mini cab, pure and simple. Taxi = Able to ply for hire Mini Cab = Pre booked To get round that he is now saying in modern society the way to hail a cab has progressed to telephone, internet and smart phone apps....hello that os called BOOKING not hailing...is it any wonder their drivers are so pee poor when they have a boss like that You know the "Pre Booked Only" sticker they have on mini cabs?? Well me and a few friends (also bus drivers) refer to this as the "Badge of Bastard" I wonder why??? I did use a generalisation, but in reality its the lycra clad pretentious "my sh*t don't stink" chelsea boy type cyclist I have a problem with. ;D I refer to these people as "cycling nazi" or sometimes simply "Jeremy Hunt" ;D

I'm assuming you mean Cyclists in Bus Lanes?

Talking of lanes, when are the Olympic Priority lanes going to start to appear? I'm surprised there's nothing planned yet
