E217 and E218 done in the last two days with Vodafone 'Freebees' Adverts. This will compliment the current buses done, I believe E208-210 inclusive.

How do bus companies paint the adverts all over the bus? These days it's done with vinyls, back in the 70s and 80s they were painted (I remember the Jockey Shorts and Y Fronts Routemasters...)

Does it cost more then having a normal banner on the bus.

Does it cost more then having a normal banner on the bus. It doesn't normally damage the paint, unless it wasnt properly painted in the first place. It does cost more, but the cost is paid by the advertiser to the agency who fit the wrap to the bus. The bus company themselves get paid for hosting the adverts I believe!

BX's E54 is also now a Vodafone bus. That's 3 we have now with the Voda ad, and one Samsung. Oh and WVL271 still with its visa wrap.

T53 on the 466 today with a vodaphone ad. I thought I saw T53 the other day ... but have also seen reports of T57 ... so does TC have 2x Vodaphone all-over ads?

To add, The vinyl they use is specifically designed for all over vehicle wrapping, and comes in different grades, i.e. permanent, semi permanent, time limited etc. On these applications they employ a vinyl that has a low tack adhesive that can effectively and quite easily be peeled off without damaging underlying surfcaes, paint and vinyl's etc.

They did something similar at NX, but they had forgotten to cut out the radiator vent on the side engine door. It took a few scratched heads and an ADL engineer before we figured out why it was overheating!! ;D
