Hope you managed to catch it? A good but emotional day out in my opinion, only ruined by the loud mouth yoofs in the lead car and the moron who decided to 'tag' it some time on its last trip up to Watford and back. Having used the A's for over 25 years to start/finish holidays, commute to work, go shopping, meet a date, go to the GF's house, to go out for a night out up town and for them to bring me home safely whilst drunk It certainly brought a lump to the throat when listening to all the creaks, clunks, clonks, wirling compressors and door chimes knowing that today, after all these years would be the last time I would hear all this. It also good to see all the staff getting involved in the occasion, had some good PA announcements and plenty of them out with their camera's, on one run into Baker St it looked like all the Station staff were on platform 2 to take photos!, we also had the driver and his companions pile out at Kings Cross disused to grap a few snaps! Also got filmed by London Tonight, you see me sitting (looking awkard) behind Simon Harris' left shoulder as he reports his bit on the luggage racks. Now, just for Saturday......

Same when the Victoria Line got rid of the 1967 stock. Bloody fantastic trains they were, I still miss them now. The new Victoria Line stock is okish.

I was also on the last trips, and had a great time Joined the train at Baker Street at 1230 on the Amersham trip, and stayed with the train more or less until the end at Harrow (had a few breaks so I could position myself for some good photo/video ops ) All in all went really well, I will miss the clunks and groans and the sudden jolts - one of which almost made me fall over when I was taking a pic haha. Took a few pix which are up on my site www.flickr.com/photos/steve09photos/8027771905/in/photostream/

I used to think that the Metropolitan was 'different' to the other Underground lines, going back to the electrical hauled trains, the 'T' stock, and even the 'A60 & 62' were more like a proper railway. Quality they say will win out and it has, buses that ran for 50 years and now the same with the 'As' RIP

Not exactly Metropolitan Line related but two 83 stock Jubillee Line units survived being scrapped by being mounted on the roof of one of the buildings in Great Eastern Street between Curtain Road and Shoreditch High Street.

Sad to see them go they should of kept a heritage unit or two running on the Chesham branch but suppose they had to go one day.

I made the two last rounders as I did the first two rounders that morning. This was the kind of atmosphere there was in the front carriage in the last two rounders.

I've been meaning to reply to this post for a while now, Well on the afternoon of the 26/09 I posted a message to see if anybody had the timing for train 412 setting down at WEM but I couldn't differentiate whether after HOTH, she became a fast or a slow train. So I drove to Stonebridge Park to get a Bakerloo line to Baker St. As I remembered the train was intended to stop there at 17:31, I got to baker street and had like 3 S8's pass me prior to the A stock arriving. Stayed with train from Baker Street to Aldgate - Watford where there was a massive scrum to the front of the train to take pictures. Got a fair few shots with S8 in the siding adjacent to the A stock, got some good comparison shots too. The final leg from Watford to HOTH, was disappointing for me as commented on various other LU related forums to behaviour in the leading carriage. No offence to others but the behaviour exhibited is the reason I don't bus spot or train spot like go out and take pictures of both transport forms although I do occasionally prior to change. The departure at HOTH was moving as I grew up on the aluminium finished A60/62's. I did the last 67 stock with a cast on a few years ago, I remember down the pipe was immensely hot. I was so happy to see daylight at Blackhorse Road
