^^this, i would like infinity times if were possible. I dont know how something can have great great B. Q when the air con doesnt work properly on not one but a few vehicles. I believe they have recently modified the design and improved the climate control. This is demonstrated bu the new "pods" that are now on the roofs of the buses. Look at more recent pics to see this. Certainly the model of LT1 doesn't have this modification represented on it, I'm pretty certain these mods have only been applied in the past few weeks.

How is it going to lower the cost of route contracts (not franchises as under a franchise the operator retains the revenue)? The prices of new buses being purchased/value of existing buses being factored in will not exist on NB4L routes as the buses will simply be 'posted out'. OK thanks - I see what you're saying. The TfL Board paper says that operators will have to pay a lease charge for the "use" of the NB4L. I agree that may not be as high as for a new bus being purchased. However, TfL have to be very careful not to completely skew the market for buses for London by "subsidising" NB4L to the extent that they are cheaper (to operators) than say a Mini Enviro 200!

They will be offered a a nominal leasing cost ... this will then make the contract cheaper ... and call me cynical ... but with vehicle costs, inc maint removed from contract prices - Boris PR team can go into over drive saying how the price of contract has reduced and how it is aving Londonner money. The fact that capital budget also has a great big whole in it will be conveniently overlooked. Why should it skew the market --- TfL will only make NBfL available for the routes they specify

Vjaska your post was TOTALLY subjective and leads other members of this forum to believe what you've said as fact rather than your narrow minded opinion. Have you any objective opinion on the decision?

I wonder how steeply the fare will rise next January to cover this cost?
