That honour goes to either Floyd or King Crimson. Rush were pretty d*mn good though

Rush were pretty d*mn good though I'd agree with that (enjoy playing 2112 by Rush every now and again) - although my favorite Prog has to be Caravan from the early 1970s and from the 1990s-to-date Spocks Beard.

Spocks Beard had a drummer called Nick D' Virgilio who became one of two drummers for Genesis when they made the Calling All Stations album in 1996. Favourite songs by Genesis are from the 1986 album, Invisible Touch which are Tonight, Tonight, Tonight & Domino - 8 minutes & 10 minutes of utter brilliance.

In a parallel with Genesis, when vocalist Neal Morse left Spocks Beard, Nick D'Virgilio came out from behind the kit to handle lead vocals. Sadly he left in late 2011.

I've always preferred commercial rock myself, I just can't get into prog rock for some reason. I have a liking for most forms of rock music - AOR, Prog, Jazz-rock etc - although my favorite style is 'Classic' - my favorite bands are The Who, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath and AC/DC

My favourite band isn't really a rock band - more of a clash between pop, rock and dance - Duran Duran. Genesis follows next and I like Talk Talk as well. I also like bits & pieces from Foreigner, Rainbow, one track from Deep Purple & Yes.
