Good News for you all. TfL saying: P13 Streatham station – New Cross Gate, Sainsburys The frequency increases from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes, and from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes on all evenings and Sundays during shopping hours. Start from 22nd March. That's interesting as I could have sworn I saw the new rotas for the P13 in the garage some weeks ago, which was dated for the 22nd of March. I wanted to post on here but somehow forgot and also I wasn't entirely sure what I witnessed I tried to look for it the next day but it wasn't there. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how this will go. I know the last bus from Streatham leaves around 2300 hrs which I think is a little too early

Great news! Ironically I was on the P13 this afternoon and it was the quietest it has been during Saturday shopping hours for a long time.

I'm guessing P13 will get a PVR increase too. PVR should be increased to 9.

The route improvements are being discussed on the East Dulwich Forum. 'Sweetgirl' has a post claiming duty running times have been cut which will lead to more turns. www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1277997

At present, the running times and layovers are fairly generous. I remember when I last had 8007 at this time last year, I had time to go and ride 8041 on the 518 to Streatham Common Station and back before 8007 took me back home. Although some return trips have had a few minutes trimmed off the running and turnaround time, two extra buses should be sufficient to maintain reliability. As with any route, extra buses can be laid on if the route doesn't run reliably. Unfortunately the route is vulnerable to disruption due to unpredictable traffic spikes on the South Circular.

From a cost/benefit point of view I would suggest TfL could easily justify cutting the route back to Peckham to increase the frequency where it is most needed. Much as there will be people that are helped by the bus going into New Cross Sainsbury's from the north, there are plenty of other services stopping directly on the main road outside. Plus, as already mentioned, the route will continue to directly serve East Dulwich Sainsbury's as an alternative to most people. It makes me wonder if it would be going into Sainsbury's at all had Go-Ahead won the route (as per 36) Peckham Bus Station is very busy - the necessity for a different stand off the current line of route would probably take away much of the benefit.

I don't see an issue - the 136 will be vacating its stand without any replacement so the P13 would fit straight in. The bus station would be slightly less busy as you are only going to have one P13 on stand majority of the time - I've seen more than one 136 on stand at Peckham at any one time on a few occasions. The P13 already serves the bus station as well.

Should remain as it is with the increased frequency, the P13 also has quite a lot of stand time as well.

The route is now on TfL press releases P13 press noticedaytime frequency will become every 15 minutes, evening every 20 mins Says it will be changed to dual door single decks later in the year, presumably after Abellio lose the route 100 contract. No idea where the existing mini darts will then go, maybe to replace some of the 13-14 year old ones in Surrey

Will be interesting to know if the 322 will have a similar conversion to dual door single decks around the same time.

I was at Peckham Bus Station at 2.55pm on Sunday and to my surprise a full P13 towards New Cross with standing room only after picking up more passengers!

How long are the buses that are currently on the 100?

When I used it a while back, but from New Cross and on a Saturday, we ended up with a nearly full bus by the time we reached Peckham. All you need is a gap between buses on other routes and people will pile on the "diddy" bus instead.
