With a wide range of different lengths available to choose from I do see the potential of a few London orders of that especially the shorter lengths examples providing they do meet the TfL specs.
Initially released in 7m and 10m lengths, although they say 8, 9m, 11m and 12m models will be released in 2022 I see HCT going for these to retain the W5 and W12.

Just saw this from a twitter page - Could this be the end of the push for an EV London fleet?

Are electric buses interesting to ride as an enthusiast? Not been on too many but just wanted to see people's opinions. And I mean it in the way of kickdown & thrash, what a lot of enthusiasts seem to be interested in.

They have a nice whine to them especially the ones on the Red Arrow routes. Glad that thy potentially could end up on the 444. The double decks I don't enjoy however

To me they are not too different to Hybrids especially when stopping frequently they just feel like normal buses. This is why I don't really see the fuss about about promoting buses are electric.

I think they're great, I had a ride on one of the new ones on the 160 yesterday and there were some positive comments from other passengers. In any other part of the country they would be used as a selling point for bus travel but the dead hand of TfL means they are in bog standard livery and put on a quiet route like the 160 rather than a more high profile route like the 47.

The 47 is soon due for tender anyways...

It's funny you always seem to hear these so called positive comments, they probably noticed the bus was new and absolutely nothing to do with the bus being electric!!! As for the 47 don't you bang on how it's hardly used north of London Bridge so not exactly a high profile route! Why shouldn't suburban routes get nice buses! Electric vehicles are standard now they are everywhere! Buses, cars, delivery vans. TfL missed the chance for the big fan fare when they first entered service a few years ago.

I look forward to seeing the EPs on the 132 as well. Last set of new buses for BX was in 2012 for Routes 89 & 658. E229-245, WVL455 & 456 and ever since then pure cascades.

I have to wonder have they heard of the word discreet!

Well exactly that, you overhear all sorts of things on public transport especially from mobile phone conversations. *Rather creepy that Dan is still busy trolling me some 6 months after asking me to ignore him.
