Personally really don’t see the need to promote the fact buses are electric! We have had electric buses since 2016 in London. I am pretty sure the majority of passengers don’t care how the bus is powered as long as it turns up and makes good progress without constant regulation. I could understand the big fanfare when it’s a new technology and the first route to convert. Green credentials are seen by a sector of the population to be important. I would imagine most companies have boasted about how green they are over the past 12 months in some way or other. Can't see people flocking to the 173 over the 175 just because it's buses are electric. All the stops mention the 173 has electric buses but frankly most people couldn't care less.

It's more the people that don't use it could care less. If it is clearly marketed as an electric, they can't mistakenly use the dirty diesel argument. In fact any argument about routes that use electric are not going to look very 'green'.

Can electric buses go as fast as there diesel and hybrid counterparts? They can go faster, they are very fast and they are heavily limited.

Van Hool (Dutch manufacturer) has confirmed that the newly launched range of zero emission buses (called A range) will be available in UK market as they are modular Various lengths 12m, 13m 18m (articulated), 24m (double-artic) It would never happen, but those A12s would look nice on the 203 Shame they don’t have any shorter variants, considering the majority of SDs in London are 12m>

I've heard something to do with a diversionary routing.
