When Centrecomm give out a message saying due to delays or whatever bus tickets are being allowed on say zone 1 underground, what does that mean exactly? You have to have an actual bus ticket or you can wave your oyster, say you were on a bus and get free travel?

When Centrecomm give out a message saying due to delays or whatever bus tickets are being allowed on say zone 1 underground, what does that mean exactly? You have to have an actual bus ticket or you can wave your oyster, say you were on a bus and get free travel? Just show your bus ticket or oyster (but don't touch in and out) to staff on the barrier and they let you through.

This is subject to being checked by a handheld MOVie reader by gateline staff however.

I remember when Stagecoach had a strike, I used my week bus pass oyster freely on the underground, tapping in and out, and got charged nothing. I think they can programme oysters to do this, but the strike was pre-known and so they could have prepared for it, so I am not sure about live incidents.
