Woah! Did not expect that. I only expected them to sell off Dagenham not 8 of their garages! Wow, really thought they were recovering from the tenders they got in 2011 and last year after the disastrous 2010. What a shame.

Just looked on Wiki, and it says First London collectively has nine garages. So if 8 garages have been sold off then one depot will remained for First London. I really hope retained LI (even though I have my doubt as I can see major companies bidding for that garage).

Oh well nice to see that I was correct about the Trading Statement being the way they would announce the sell off.

Perhaps the 79 will go back to being operated out of ON, which makes more sense anyway, given its on the line of route And we can look forward to busical chairs, with intermixing between Metroline and First buses.. Wonder if Metroline will keep First fleetnumbers...logically and given that First fleetnumbers are so long, no. But they kept Armchair's DP and DT vehicle codes.

I am very disappointed by this. It wipes out competition in west London. Apart from Abellio who have a tiny base at Hayes, Transdev - whose depots are full , and Arriva the Shires , there is no effective competition in Ealing, Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent London Boroughs.
Transit company will probably be bought out within two years by another big group , they can surely have no international plans and have just bought the depots that Metroline didn't want, in the hope that it would make them attractive to an international bidder.
Overall, a sad day for London Buses I think.

Your jumping the gun, all we know is it continues to operate under First.
