This South Londoner's certainly glad to hear that, especially having driven that bus numerous times. I believe she² was the one that had the comically¹ faulty automated message. I wouldn't think engine failure alone would cause it to be scrapped as another identical engine, refurbished or otherwise, could be installed. ¹ - "bus stopping at next stop, please stand well clear of the doors" played speeded up ² - or may've been PDL24

I wouldn't think engine failure alone would cause it to be scrapped as another identical engine, refurbished or otherwise, could be installed. ¹ - "bus stopping at next stop, please stand well clear of the doors" played speeded up ² - or may've been PDL24 It was taken out of service for having an engine failure in July 2021, I guess the Cornwall terrain played a bit tough on the bus! But given they were already going to see replacements by October I imagine it was seen as more economical to get rid of it.
PDL18 I believe was the second example of the two that suffered an engine failure (that was the other of the pair in Cornwall) although not too sure what has happened to that, I assume given that the rest of the withdrawn ones have headed to scrap I'd assume that has as well?
Cornwall also has some Norwood VLAs on hire, and sadly VLA76 suffered a similar fate to PDL18/25 having had an engine failure (sad about that one because I was fan of that batch on the 41 before they moved to Norwood), though not sure if it's gone to scrap. I believe its sat in their Camborne depot. Although they do have another 6 in service across their fleet.

My bad if it's already been reported but SEN34 is with Nu-Venture. They're building up a sizeable collection of ex-London kit, I'll have to check it out at some point!

For anyone missing the old DWs, former Arriva DW49(LJ53NGU) is now with YMS Travel of Aylesham. Should be out on RRS in deepest Kent fairly frequently.
