Former Go Ahead Docklands/Blue Triangle Enviro 200 YX61 BWV (SE121) was this year acquired by Cardinal Buses and yesterday emerged from the paint shop in fleet livery.

E58/59/62/63/66/68-76/95 all now with Plymouth Citybus
E64, 65 now with Go North East, not any idea officially what other 6 are but they are likely withdrawn ones, at a guess maybe E77, 78, 93, 97-99?

The DW's although 4 speed Voith, is equivalent to a 5 speed ZF as the First gear is a lock up combined 1st/2nd on other gearboxes. This saves more fuel instead of upshifting. They easily hit 62mph those buses as they are not limited. On certain parts I would say they are better than the E400. The engine being the same as the E400 is another advantage, plus they have a much better cooling system and do not overheat no way as much as what happens with the E400. I simply do not believe that a DW with it’s current final drive ratio will hit 62, they are absolutely screaming away at 50 and I’ve never seen them (we pass them on the A13 almost daily) do anymore than that, the final drive ratio is far shorter than that in the E400 with a Voith which I know can do 62 and I’ve done it, The Voith B9TL’s we have max out around 56/57 on the redline, the streetdecks we have are limited to 50 and are doing that at 2300rpm Speaking strictly on theory can the Voith box spec'd for the E40Ds (Eg E1-39) be fitted on the DB300s to gain those same gear ratios? Obviously remapping would be involved in conjunction with such retrofit.

Obviously remapping would be involved in conjunction with such retrofit. You’d just need to have the rear differential changed for one geared for higher speed and probably some software adjustments, I believe this was quite common with RM’s and RT’s to make them more suitable for longer runs
