I'm off to the isle of Wight tomorrow. If I've got any spare cash after that ill put it in the fund! Seriously though it would be good if we could get something together to preserve this lovely bus I myself have fond memories of these buses when I was a teenager.

Seriously though it would be good if we could get something together to preserve this lovely bus I myself have fond memories of these buses when I was a teenager. If I was still working on the buses and if there was substantial space in the depot (or elsewhere ideal within the firm) I may have put the consortium idea across to my governors and the union for their opinion about it. I have known a few drivers in my time that actually own an 'old skool' vehicle... which I regret not asking more about at the time. |

You (well I) don't see many Metro's on the market nowadays that are still decent "just out of London service' condition, that's if the picture shown is a recent picture. There's another Metro (M295) that's up on ebay for 25k!!! Just because its had a few seats ripped out and a bed, stove and camping toilet added! That makes the £2000 for M59 look like a drop in the ocean. Having looked at the Ian's bus stop site, M59 has been in preservation since 2002! |

Former GAL PVL73 has been converted to the MK2 version of Ensign's Diesel into Hybrid project and is now painted in the same livery as the ex Metroline TA MK1 version.
