Wish both the 36 & 436 got a full allocation of them. They are fast and I prefer them to E400s. That makes two of us!! even tho those EHs are limited to 43mph, I do try my best to do that going up Park Lane (40mph limit), but the middle bus stop, traffic lights and the speed camera make it hard work!!!

Definitely. Them and the 15's ones are my favourites. Wish both the 36 & 436 got a full allocation of them. They are fast and I prefer them to E400s. They are E400s

My favourite bus was M999. Worked out of Fulwell, Norbiton, Stamford Brook and Shepherds Bush. Those Metrobuses had bags of character. DT5 in Harrier livery , M999 , LX5 , L314 in Airbus livery , and M1069 . Back in the 80s and 90s my all time favourite bus was B reg M1104, part of the M1084-1105 batch MkI Metros with the L10 Cummin engine..the other Metros having the Gardner engine. M1104 was that bit more unique as the middle part of the bus was white, advertising the engine. That bus in particular had a higher rated engine.

Add to my list an MD class metropolitan, they use to run out of NX, PD and a few other garages and according to my old man they were super quick and sounded really nice, same there is only 2 left out of the whole class!!!

Sadly had a habit of corroding though So true, probably why even the DMS outlived them in London.

The bus that I personally would have liked was one of the SMS's as although they were mechanically unreliable they could shift I can remember seeing one going down the Purley Way on the 115 and the speedo was off the clock.

RML 2437 if it hasnt been scrapped or fitted with a new engine in its 2004 state how it was on the 8 had a very quick gear change in automatic mode ! Or RML2760 however having rode on a enviro 350H (First Essex's SN13 CHX) last week ,one of them would be great very rapid and comfortable .

My choices would be a Dennis Arrow or an Optare Spectra, both of which I have a soft spot for.
Granted, neither were big sellers but I would rather preserve one of the less known types than say a Routemaster, of which there are too many in preservation as it is!
Alternatively a W/X/Y reg Dart SLF- that lovely engine tone...
