'metrobus' - there is a difference between the Metroline purchase & the Go-Ahead purchase. Metroline purchasing First Centrewest has left Metroline as the only big operator in the North West. London Sovereign & Arriva The Shires are too small to make serious inroads into their work. Go-Ahead London purchasing the remaining DM routes still leaves two big operators in the area which are Stagecoach London & Go-Ahead London itself with Arriva Southern Counties nibbling at the edges. Metroline have quite a lot of Competition around them with Abellio, London United & Tower Transit. Abellio & London United's operating area is mainly in the south west, only a small number of their routes creep into First territory. Tower Transit can only compete with Metroline on the routes around Westbourne Park & the surrounding area.

Oh good grief! Do you think Go-Ahead will surrender one (or more) garages Can we (London United) get AF and AL (or SW). Please!I wouldn't count my finger on Stagecoach as they always seem to want to make a profit on anything they gain. I thought all bus companies were in it for the profit - i'm sure they don't do it for the love of the industry! lol ;D

Not forgetting Arriva London at DX, which brings me to the purchaser of DM.....Arriva?? Could easily base both DX and the Rainham based OLST operations in there. With the way their ops are increasing in North London, would provide a handy overspill for the 123 to move into if needed to.

Would make sense for DX to move to there as DM is quite modern and first did spend a lot of money when they opened it a few years ago. And also is more larger. However I don't think TOLST would move ever move with them as they are separate subsidiaries. Think back to when TOLST was running route 337. That was known as Arriva Wandsworth. Also could help Arriva break up the big two in east London by having the space to win more routes. Don't suppose there is much room at DX these days.

If I did, I'd order just Gemini 2 double decks!!! (even though I love the ADEs) I'd order MCW Metrobus MCW Metrobus cant be used because its low floor. But you can get a E400 body with a DAF DB250 chassis so the bus will sound like a MCW Metrobus in a different body.

Of course MCW Metrobus can be used, Routemasters aren't low floor but they are being used so why can't a MCW Metrobus? A Enviro400 has never been built with a DAF DB250 chasis, the Enviro400 Isn't made with DAF DB250 chassis and The DAF DB250 chasis Isn't in production.

I was having a joke - having rode many Metrobus over my life time, I pretty sure I already knew it wasn't low floor.

Funny you should say that, he might be onto something, I trawled the net and found this.... here's sole prototype DLA308 (LJ07ECU) out on the 243 from some years ago (not my photo ), not too sure where the vehicle is now, but long withdrawn

Lol, I was looking for DLA308 on a search engine and all I can find is this: It ran over a mattress in 2005 which destroyed the chassis. It was stored at Brixton Tramshed until 2011 (during which its engine was removed to use in another DLA) where it went for scrap. Even if it sat there still, it would of been destroyed by the fire that claimed two Y reg DLA's & damaged VLA158 & VLA176, as it sat right at the back of the Tramshed in the left hand corner.

Thanks for the info. That's one unlucky DLA.
