As for the political reasons, perhaps DW411 is a political prisoner She was taken from the mainland and never seen again You clearly missed my post in the "missing buses" thread where there is a link to a photo of DW411 which is at Heysham Docks on its way back, I assume, to London for service. I assume it went back to Wrights after testing at Milbrook.

On a serious note, does anyone know of any previous Wrightbus which had A/C fitted as a specification item? As I said earlier there are hundreds of Wrightbus bodied Volvos in HK with fully working air con. There is also a dual axle Volvo B9TL / Wright Geminin 2 with HK Citybus plus many more Enviro 400 dual axles. These buses got a dispensation to the axle weight limits to allow them to run. Many of them run on the Central - Stanley group of services. These buses have a capacity of 90 people. There are also loads of 11.3m Enviro 500 tri-axles newly into service with HK Citybus and NWFB in Hong Kong. These are fully air conned and seat 74 and have a standing capacity of 46. If we can tolerate buses that are 11.3m long and want air con surely we should just buy some nice Enviro 500s?

Do Wrights have different assembly points around the world and/or use different contractors to install the air con? The point about Caetano is interesting. You'll note that Bombardier who make the trains in Britain and are from chilly Canada are equally hopeless at building a unit with working a/c

You go from NB4L to another extreme but this is trains, when the when the Class 395s came in on HS1 for Domestic Services their Air Conditioning was set for Japanese weather, so when it was warm outside, it was like arctic conditions on the train, i ended up putting a coat i had in my suitcase on cause it was that cold on the train.

Having been on one of Dublin Buses B9TL Enviro 500's, they are far superior in every way to the LT's though I don't seem to recall them having air-conditioning.

Sorry Like Islington's ridiculous 20mph borough-wide limit, it was ignored Like the pix, they'll have to change 411's blinds for AR (I'm assuming that's where she's heading). Hopefully there's 8 other DW's following not too far behind to shift the last of the DLA's

You can't move that quick thru Islington anyway due to the traffic and the state of their roads Still, the cameras are still calibrated to 30 / 40 so I think it's more to scare you into doing the limit... Everyone (aside from emergency services) will now be late for work if they observed it

Everyone (aside from emergency services) will now be late for work if they observed it Thank goodness they don't have that borough wide limit for the outer borough of Merton, which besides has quite a few 40mph roads (50mph along the A3). Imagine the timetable changes on the routes which serve the borough, especially night buses.

I got on LT9 today, at least this one was blowing out cold air, on both the top and bottom decks but it wasnt powerful enough to really make a difference. The conductor was nice though, he was wishing everyone a nice day when they left the bus via the rear platform, as well as being very cheery on the whole, so thumbs up to him.
