There are still complaints on Twitter about the NBFL...
Are they going to put window openings on the bus? All they got is air cooling system and not air conditioning.

The only difference is air conditioning also has humidity treatment, full a/c will reduce the humidity as well as the temperature If people are measuring it with a thermometer, they should see temperature being reduced by the air cooling system If temp isn't going down then cooling system isn't working TfL have stated it has air cooling (not a/c) but either way should be making it colder inside if it works, if it isn't reducing air temp then it isn't working properly, or designed properly (underpowered or badly ducted) Don't get it confused with fans which just blow the ambient air around to create an artificial breeze (which some earlier buses were fitted with)

Let's hope when it's winter time the Boris buses will have adequate heating.

As what Leon Daniels said on the Yahoo group that if the bus is air conditioned it requires another axle. They are better off putting window openings on the bus all it does is make the bus all stuffy.

I agree with those MP's - where I work, we've no air con and the temperatures are exasperating so it gets too hot, send us home.

By chance are any bus firms helping employees in any way throughout the wave i.e. free bottles of mineral water?

I agree with those MP's - where I work, we've no air con and the temperatures are exasperating so it gets too hot, send us home. While Britain legally has a minimum indoor working temperature (16 degrees) there is no maximum. In Germany, schools are closed if temperatures reach 30C on two consecutive days I believe

I was lucky to be sent to a Data Centre - where it's kept at 16 degrees for the servers not to overheat Perhaps a Datacentre firm could sort out Wright's woes and put in proper aircon There are definite similarities - no windows that open, but a door that opens quite frequently

'freebbc', it sounds silly to me that you judge the NBfL based on tweets or what the media has to say. Also, we don't constantly need links to websites to tell us how crap these buses are, we already know that!

Not a TfL press release this time but from an air conditioning firm in the West Midlands. Press release"Grayson Thermal Systems is proud to have been commissioned by Wrightbus to fix the problems that Transport for London (TfL) is having with the air conditioning systems on some of its new Routemaster buses. Grayson service director Ian Hateley said: “Grayson did not supply the air conditioning systems that were installed on the “Boris Buses”, but nonetheless we are able to offer a full diagnostic and repair service. We have a large number of service vans and trained technicians based in the London area, and we are geared up to offer a fast and responsive emergency service. “It’s a real shame that the current hot weather has led to problems with these great new buses, but we are confident that Grayson will be able to take the heat out of the situation quickly and efficiently.”" Make of that what you will?!!! I thought the buses were "fixed" already and that they had air cooling and not air conditioning.
