I seem to recall reading somewhere that TFL made it a requirement for buses after a certain year must have working air con for the driver. Anyone point me in the right direction of how to find out? cheers

Dont know a year but if this helps in anyway?? With Stagecoach the 51 plate TAs (euro 3)onwards have driver air con but the 52 plate darts dont. Not sure if any of the X/Y reg TAs had air con. The e200/400 air con is not all that if i am honest. Best air con is indeed the ALX400 (one above your head). Oh and the Citaro air con is good

The e200/400 air con is not all that if i am honest I wouldn't say that. It very much depends on how it's being used. I've taken 400s out of the garage on warm mornings and within a fairly short time I've got the cab feeling like an igloo. But I've then taken over a bus that's been out a similar amount of time but the driver has had the cab window open and the air con is blowing hot air. In that situation you either have to put up with a very warm cab for a while before cool air starts blowing or, more usually, just carry on with the window open. It's the same with the air con on the upper deck; it's very pleasant provided passengers don't open the windows

Yes it has always been enabled Shame drivers don't turn it on for passengers, unless management have told them not to
