I can only assume it is Metroline given they employ the person who ensures customers board and alight the vehicle in safety ... massive fail. Personally I would like to see the Health and Safety Executive investigate this rather than TfL

Shall we just wait and see what actually happened before jumping to conclusions? Sigh!

Unfortunately, this incident gets jumped on by anyone anti Boris/Tory/the LT's and of course the wonderful media. Agree that we should wait until facts come to light before we speculate/ jump to conclusions. I suspect that this incident will mean that all conductors will now be extremely strict with regards to the rear platform.
I actually got shouted at by a conductor on route 9 last weekend for perfectly safely boarding in traffic. He had a right go at me and was extremely rude. I did consider complaining, but thought better of it.
It seems however that the LT's are jinxed, I just hope that things turn out positively for the woman involved and the future of the rear platform in London.

I don't think its fair to say they are 'jinxed' - I don't recall anyone saying that RMs, RTs etc were jinxed and how may people do you think fell off of those over the last 60 years? Otherwise I agree with what you have written - we shall have to see how this develops.

I think you should look again if you think all us 'anti Tories' & 'anti LT's' have jumped to conclusions because of one person within the assembly who has called for the production of LT's to be scrapped. I'm 'anti Tory' & 'anti LT' yet have not jumped to a single conclusion on this issue - please don't tar as us all with the same brush. Apologies if the above sounds harsh but I too would like to wait for the facts before making an assumption.

I already saw a comment on the Evening Standard's page blaming Boris and wanting the arctics back. Thanks, but no thanks.

I think what westhamgeezer means by jinxed is there has been a few indcidents involving the LTs, some quite serious too Accidents, some quite serious, will happen with any make/type of bus...such is life. The difference here is the high profile nature of the NB4L and so an accident will stick in the mind and create this thought that they are jinxed when accidents can happen to any bus at any time. That is my opinion on the bus, I shan't go any more specific about open platforms as I think that would be inappropriate at this time - but I am sure I will re-visit. Personally if a jinxed were to be used for a bus type, one of the winners may have to be the Trident - is anyone keeping a score on the number of fires these have had? Sheer luck that no-one has been seriously injured there (and I hope no-one will be).

London Tonight have done a news report. Including interview of Kenny Livingstone (former Mayor of London and GLC) talks about the number of people got killed standing by the open platform. youtu.be/f7Pj1Ynmp7gIt should be down to common sense, stay away from the open platform, abide what the conductor tells you. I hope the woman recovers well...

I will bet my left testicle that the woman was to blame.
I hope she makes a full recovery.
