Totally out of fantasy, I would rather like to see 98 converted to LT, making Oxford Street the LT exclusive zone. I do remember a report ca 2014/15 that someone "in the know" had heard that AC had been due to receive LTs. It would now make a change from all the VWHs there.

It would be useful to share with you all:
Today my college friend showed me a document regarding LT/NBFL vehicles. It was very interesting to go through.
What I gathered is that TFL are extremely strict with LT/NBFL vehicles, operators cannot use standard vehicles on routes allocated with NBFL "unless" it's a necessity and surplus NBFL aren't available.
I've experienced that the LT vehicles have frequent mechanical faults and are unable to operate, therefore I would hope that engineers at garages do as much as possible within their ability to keep them running as without a doubt they will continue operating on the routes there currently on for at least another tender contract/term!
At Oxford Circus, this morning standard vehicles operated on the 55 and 390 which is pretty common due to faults and unavailability of NBFL.

Maybe I am missing something is this not exactly what happens? If an LT is not available it is subbed.
As you are very aware the 55 has always seen a high number of standard buses

Yes your correct! I just thought of typing it with full details. The 21 also sees standard vehicles frequently ):

Any update on the front door boarding proposal? It is going ahead, was supposed to be during January, but the Contractor chosen to modify the door switches went bust (Wrightbus) so the plan to have all 1000 buses modified by mid December didn’t happen. TfL were looking for new contractor (and seeing if Bamford, who bought parts of Wrightbus were interested), I am guessing delayed until at least March now (or will wait until after 7 May mayor election), but nothing official yet.

I’m hoping for major outer London routes (e.g. the 5, 25, 115, etc)

I think the 19 will be the last conversion now. Unless there are some major reductions/route withdrawal I cant see how enough would become spare.

I’m hoping for major outer London routes (e.g. the 5, 25, 115, etc) Preferably none in East London - give them to the West Londoners as we have too many over here
