I assume not but as pointed out they are TfL's buses and they might have plans for those or the 168 batch of buses that are currently "Missing" SL3 maybe? If so, it would become the first LT route to serve the boroughs of Bexley and Bromley, The N21 beat it to Bexley a few years ago. 3/N3 & 176 beat it to Bromley a few years ago too.

Is Sutton the only borough to have not had LTs ever serving it in regular service? I believe the 293 had some school extras during Covid using LTs and maybe the odd one has appeared on the N44 but as far as I know they have otherwise never been used in Sutton.

Too far away to ID, it was a Starfield ad one. It was reported here as LT362 - which, according to LVF has a Starfield ad. Can’t think of too many reasons for a Stagecoach LT to be in Bexleyheath apart from route testing…..

Without a doubt they will. Even on conventional Hybrids. Significant change to bus tendering coming in 2030/31. Current model unsustainable, willing partners pulling out. Expect a Manchester approach from then on. Apart from Sullivan, I can't think of anyone trying to get out of London bus tendering. Admittedly Tower Transit did recently pull out.

Just a thought will these horrid buses be scrapped ones everything goes Electric? I know that they have no life further on. Maybe they will explore more options to convert them to full Electric. They are already Hybrid so it should not be to complex. Anyway I can see the 257 converting next. Doubt it to be honest! Route 5 needs to finish its full conversion, think the 176 needs a top up of buses, there is also the 17 which is a mixed allocation. My money is on the SL routes taking the bulk of the spares but will happily be proven wrong. As it is, I think route 17 will specify all electric buses as part of its next tender, even if retained by Metroline.

At some stage speculation will shift to which route/s will be the last one operating LTs, last LT out etc …. What I'm looking forward to is which route is the first one to cause LT withdrawals, as against routes that lose LTs to other routes.

There will also be a handful of LTs spare when route 211 is diverted to Battersea Power Station. The route will be shorter than it is now going to Waterloo.

My prediction is 313. 5 year contract ends in 2026, by which time the protypes operating it will be 15 year old.
