Some months ago when I was new to Vehicle Finder (before I joined the forum!), I found a sneaky Dennis Dart on the 18 (which was at the time still run by First). It was quite a surprise. Since then, I have been checking Vehicle Finder at random times for random, double deck routes to see if any buses are running sneaky single deckers, but have found none. Have any of you seen (either on VF or in reality) single deckers running double deck routes?

I've seen Dennis Darts on the 35, 37, 40, 45, 63, 74, 94, 220 (alongside Ms) and 280. Also seen an Optare Excell on the 57. Also LOTS have in the past reported single day cruise on the 157, 196 and 343 (The latter being on short journeys in the Nunhead/Brockley area).
I was one of the first drivers to drive a DRL class Dart on the 49 in the mid 90s, the route then still using Metrobuses from BB and SW.

I've seen on LVF that routes 282, 247 and 496 have used Enviro200s. I've also seen route 261 using an Esteem (from route 181), an Enviro200 (from route R9) and a Scania OmniCity SD (from route 358)

The 406, 418 and 467, all of which are run by Quality Line, have single deck workings such as MCL's, OPL's, OV's and even OP's at times quite frequently. If you want a Single Deck working on them, just check the VF daily

I can reel off a whole lot of sightings of s/d buses on d/d routes in recent years. Metrobus generally is a good bet. Arriva KT often put s/d buses out on the 160 and 492 as well.

I think this thread is actually quite a good idea I agree its a good thread and before gal took over the ex etb routes I saw single deckers on the 1, 180 and 185 and even rode one on the 180 it was not a fun experience. The 492 and 160 used to get regular sd appearances but recently its calmed down.

DLE23 sneaked onto the 111 once I recall. Also caught a DP Dart once on the 111 in 2010. (It was AV62, can't remember the fleet number)

(Wasn't there already a similar thread on this recently? Probably better to merge if it is the case? )

It was said elsewhere that the report of a Dart on the 18 was incorrect, an LVF error.
