Indeed it is 335 Today HV40 DT 61 First from North Greenwich 0500 HV38 DT 62 HV45 DT 63 HV42 DT 64 First from Kidbrooke 0500 HV43 DT 65 HV41 DT 66 (Subbed with HV44) HV39 DT 67 EDIT HV40 DT 61/Now DT 66 HV38 DT 62/Now DT 61 HV45 DT 63/Now DT 62 HV42 DT 64/Now DT 63 HV43 DT 65 Now DT 64 HV41/HV44/Now DT 65 HV39 DT 67 As a local (The Kidbrooke end) This is a very useful route as it opens up using NG for those of us who have had to rely on South Eastern for too long. I decided against today , mainly due to the weather, have a few places in mind for decent photos in due course (Won't be tomorrow either). The loadings today were pretty decent for a new route. Even though it is short it will be very busy at times. I found heading to North Greenwich is busier as it serves bus stops with Existing routes heading to North Greenwich. It’s showing North Greenwich people will just get on it. A lot of people got off at Blackheath / Royal Standard on the trips I did today. The next 3 months though I imagine it will suffer because of Christmas Shoppers and January Sales. Overall I’m glad it was routed via Blackheath because the 108 suffers major overcrowding in the peaks. Occasionally I do use buses from Royal Standard to North Greenwich after getting off a 202. I don’t mind the 108 when it isn’t busy. The 422 I prefer this as it isn’t as busy, but slower. The 335 I would choose over the two. Double decker and goes direct like the 108. It will definitely help on event nights.

Although my overnight coach will drop me off at Victoria in the early hours of November 23rd, I reckon I may well shun route 44 Streetdecks for now. This would give me more time for inner west London routes.
Furthermore, my hunch is that my first London bus trip of next year could be south London eg Tooting / Crystal Palace / Norwood Junction. North & outer west London are waiting for route 34/102 & 282 refurbs, and east London is waiting for CrossRail. There is also the ticking timebomb of route 312 & 358. If either route faces losing their current vehicles I shall defo visit south London to ride them while I still can.

It's a shame there was no publicity on the stop before Weigal Road on Kidbrooke Park Road to say it was diverted by luck I was able to direct people to the next stop so they could get it, it links pretty well with the 178 too but I was surprised that it doesn't go into Kidbrooke Station like the 178 does but just turns into Kidbrooke Park Road, Good loads even at 9am this morning.

So I was at Uxbridge and was about to get DE1152 on the U1 (as I haven’t been on DE1152-55 since they came to Uxbridge), and then it gets subbed for DEL2158, so that was annoying

Publicity would be posted on the closed stops. Little point in serving Kidbrooke Station as that area is being closed soon for about 4 years. The loadings today were pretty decent for a new route. 51 Sidcup, High Street to Orpington, High Street 353 to Addington Village, Interchange Tram to East Croydon
I prefer doing this journey via Orpington and Addington than via Bromley.

My journey the past 3 days: Thursday: 186 - VWH2241 - Mill Hill Broadway > Edgware Then later on: 251 - DE20011 - Edgware > Mill Hill Broadway
Friday: 186 - VW1406 - Mill Hill Broadway > Edgware Then later on: 142 - ADE40435 - Edgware > Burnt Oak Brodway 251 - DE20009 - Burnt Oak Station > Mill Hill Broadway
Saturday: 302 - VWH1417 - Mill Hill Broadway > Kingsbury Green 324 - DE1603 - Kingsbury Green > Kingsbury Station Then later on: 324 - DE1133 - Kingsbury Station > Brent Cross, Tesco (Officially meaning I have done the 324 End to End, though not all in one go) Then later on: 324 - DE1609 - Brent Cross, Tesco > Brent Cross, Shopping Centre (Short journey I know, but because of the bad weather and the fact there is no easy way to walk between the 2, I decided to just take it the 2 stops) 186 - TEH1235 - Brent Cross, Shopping Centre > Mill Hill Broadway (What a through back to EW days this was, was pure coincidence as well that I caught this rare working)

A frenetic journey back home attempting to use the hopper fare to get from South to East London for £1.50 177 - Deptford Bridge to Woolwich - This 177 had actually started at Deptford Bridge and I saw another 177 being curtailed there 474 - North Woolwich to Canning Town Bus Station - ran the whole length of the Woolwich Foot tunnel in order to catch this 474 and was relying upon the it to simply whizz through to Canning Town but it had stopped one too many times so by the time I got to Canning Town, I was too late. However... 147 - Canning Town to Ilford - In order to catch this, I ended up having to run to the next stop on the 147 in the hope it would be slowed down by traffic lights, and it was thankfully enough meaning I had successfully used the hopper fare to get back home on bus for £1.50

Considering this is a new route and there are more homes in the pipeline in the Millennium Village and Kidbrooke, this route will only go from strength to strength. The HVs look pretty smart too. I’m looking forward to catching one on the 99 to see how they handle Bostall Hill.

The question may well be, how long until it gets a frequency increase with the pressure of serving all the new housing developments and IKEA, can see it becoming very oversubscribed very quickly.

Brief return to London mid-semester. Here's what 4.5 hours got me. (Although, I did set off 30 mins earlier but had to return home as I left some stuff behind for some errands. Caught 10158 and 10118.)
275, Woodford > Walthamstow Mkt; 10163 - attempt #2 to set off, but business as usual (BAU) 34, Walthamstow Mkt > Arnos Grove; VWH2055 - my last Metroline 34, looking forward to seeing what happens to these Gen1 Gemini3s... North Circular was better than usual for 10am. 251, Arnos Grove > Mill Hill Bdwy; DE20158 - rocket of an E200. Empty all the way, and held a 1 minute silence for the R11 driver who passed away last week. Haven't done the route since the early 2010s, much awaited. 240, Mill Hill Bdwy > Golders Green Rd; TE879 - a great tridenty E400. Similar to the above, haven't caught in 5+ years. Good to catch before these old E400s leave EW (soon I guess?) 210, Golders Green Rd > Brent Cross; TE1074 - nothing too special. Heard worse E400s from RR, and they're a year or two younger...! 182, Brent Cross > Neasden; VWH2211 - after grabbing food, it was a speedy ride through the suburbs before the Neasden underpass. Would have stayed on longer, but.... 297, Neasden > Perivale/A40; VW1832 - ....couldn't resist catching an ex-First B9 on the 297, just 1 minute behind. Doesn't quite beat a SEL, but was nostalgic. Bus not in a pretty state however. 95, Perivale/A40 > Hanger Lane; DE1116 - BAU down the A40. Was pretty full, so cut the journey short, rather than going to White City and catching something else. Tube home
See you in December, London!
