You could save time by changing at Sutton Grove Road for the X26 then change at Heathrow Central for the X140 and pick up the 114 in Harrow. Absolutely this : make use of the X26 and X140 for the western side - will save loads of time and would also probably allow you a decent lunch break somewhere too. Were it me, Iโd also only use the X80 once - for me the X80 is the weak link in the loop, because if anything goes wrong on the Dartford Crossing, youโre stuck. Start maybe in Bexleyheath with the 96 to Bluewater, then pick up the X80 there. Could always use Fastrack B, if you buy a rail ticket to Greenhithe for Bluewater Iโm pretty sure the transfer to Fastrack B is included.

Had an unplanned bus journey on Gemini 2 hybrid stuff today 460 - VWH1414 - My Area > North Finchley Bus station - Standard really, although lot smoother overrevving on this one than I am used to and surprisingly fast, more so with good driver given it has an flat battery.
221 - HV62 - North Finchley > Wood Green Shopping Area - Pretty heavy footed journey here.
329 - HV79 - Wood Green Shopping Area > Enfield Town - Not as fast as my HV62 journey and fairly packed, but did get a bit more heavy footed towards end. Also an part of Enfield I didn't venture into much, so nice change of scenery. Nice electric motor sound reminds me of VWH1409.
329 - HV79 - Enfield Town > Turnpike Lane Station - ^ Same as above
221 - HV104 - Turnpike Lane Station > North Finchley Bus station -Decent enough bus in rush hour and had an curtailment to Mill Hill Broadway, which resulted in another 221 passing me. REALLY could do with an refurb though.
460 - VWH1419 - North Finchley Bus Station > My Area - This is now the 3rd weekend (also bumped into 2-3 other times recently) in row for me to bump into this bus unplanned. On an special note, this is my 2nd time riding this bus with an battery pack replacement and I must say it is MUCH nicer to ride on again, as no longer sounds clunky and slow. There was an power trip at Golders Green, although driver manage to start the bus again quickly.

Your change at Orpington War Memorial gives you a chance for a loo break, as you are right outside McD.

With no snow today, i decided to put that disappointment behind me and completed the Victoria Line to bring me one step closer to 100% covering the Tube Map.
HV82 (141)- Berkshire Gardens to Manor House Station LT346 (254)- Portland Rise to Finsbury Park Station LT472 (19)- City and Islington College to Hyde Park Corner Station (was supposed to get off the stop before HPC Station which meant I had to walk through that cold subway. Wouldn't want to walk there at night) EH227 (36) Hyde Park Corner to Vauxhall Bus Station Victoria Line- Vauxhall to Brixton Southeastern- Brixton to Victoria Victoria Line again- Victoria to Finsbury Park Piccadilly Line- Finsbury Park to Wood Green Walked home
Nice that the trains weren't as busy today; I'm presuming people are avoiding them because of the strikes. Not sure how long I can keep doing this this weather really isn't pleasant right now

Today: Planning to chase the 160 / R11 (Sidcup) and then the 452 / 319 (Sloane Square) SWR Class 450 early doors Syon Lane to Waterloo. SER 465159 Waterloo East to Chislehurst. AL DW427 on the 269 from Chislehurst Station to St. Marys Hospital Stop @ Sidcup (a busy but nicely photographable main road location just off the A20) - arriving about 08:00AM along with the daylight which following shortly after. So started with some long exposure high ISO shots of T79 on the 229 / SEN's on R11 / WS's (can't quite make them into real buses๐) on the 286 and the 160 / 269 when stopped / slowed down ๐ which got gradually better as the ISO lowered. I work on the basis that if the shot is taken at 1/500 even on high ISO but sharp then I can work on the exposure etc with computrickry ........... blurred = Bin it. Struggled with the 160 - kept getting "bounced" even with LVF - think some of the 80xxx's don't report or report late ?? - managed a good few though including 80135 still with its VH38135 fleet number and MMC 11001 (I like a photo of "1", "01","001" etc), Managed MHV1 ๐ on the 188 at Canada Water yesterday. All the GAL SEN's were out ๐. Was rewarded with LG liveried WVL350 / 352 & 353 on the 286, T38 on the 229. So good morning up until 11:00 ............ Then AL T319 on the 269 from St.Mary's H to Sidcup Station X-Roads planning to catch the 51 (due to its bus variety) to Woolwich (DLR & DL to Sloane Square) - snaffled a few more 160's etc in Sidcup - didn't check LVF but was delighted when LG liveried GAL E132 appeared on the 51 heading to Orpington (photo๐) and then turned around to find LG liveried GAL E133 arriving in the other direction as my chariot to Woolwich ............ going to miss these oddities when the Electrics start to displace them finally. So enjoyed a ride on that ........ got to WOA ..... took a few photo's and then decided that it was just tooooo cold (despite woolies) for my 59-year old body to endure and headed home rather than to Sloane Square. (DLR / District / H37) ........... but not before sampling a Wimpy (which I absolutely adore) at WOA. Another reason I love going to Morden (along with seeing plenty of DOE's)
So that was my "Bus" journey for today ..........
Hmmmm - now where to go in the frustrating bright cold sunshine forecast for tomorrow ?

Had a fun day out yesterday with the family
R11 to St Mary Cray Station Thameslink to Denmark Hill 176 to Leicester Square
Wandered around Leicester Square and the Christmas market and had a lovely meal in an Italian restaurant. Walked down to Trafalgar Square so my little girl could look at the fountains and the lions. Wandered around the Christmas market there too. Walked to Charles II Street
94 to Marble Arch - my little girl enjoyed her electric bus ride but was far more taken by the Regent Street/Oxford Street lights!
Walked through Hyde Park (Winter Wonderland has grown massively since I went three or four years ago!) and down to Victoria
Southeastern to St Mary Cray R1 home

Today Started at 3AM - LT83 N9 Busch Corner to Trafalgar Square - just to see the N551 disappearing 100 yards in front so I pelted up the road ( not a great idea at my age ) to see it heartbreakingly pull away from the Charing Cross stop but get stopped at the lights just beyond where I caught up with it ๐ & "didn't board a bus that wasn't at an official stop" ๐ .......... So onwards on HCT 2525 (now without the frustrating 30 minute wait at Trafalgar Square but also trying not to have a cardiac arrest after running) on the N551 right through to Beckton & work ๐ . Finished work @ Beckton - nipped onto SCL 36283 on the 366 for a 2 minute dash to Gallions Reach - managed an unexpected (I really should check LVF before leaving) photo of VN37850 going the other way on the 262. Then DLR to LB - Northern Line to Clapham Common to spend the remaining 90 minutes before dusk chasing the GAL SE's on the 322 around the area of it's western terminus on the Common. Filled in with shot's of the 137 / 417 / 88 / 345 /35 /249 in the same area. SE 239 was the last shot on The Pavement Stand at almost 4pm (aren't digital camera's great !) Then a ride on MHV9 on the 35 (up top and up front - still a hard to beat experience in my view) from Clapham Common station to Clapham Junction . A few good handheld "in the dark" shots at the Grant Road stand before SWT 450 to St Margaret's Station whence a RAMMED DXE30352 on the "Covid Express" (otherwise known as the H37 - I am going double-masked with 3.0 PPM filter in Town these days) from there to Isleworth .................. my "bus journey" for today. Tomorrow's will be another N9/N551 experience in a few hours followed by an afternoon attempt to run AL's SW001 to ground before 4PM and photograph it ................. Friday to Sutton for the GAL 413 SE's / Kingston for some LT's and then probably a Richmond George Street photo fest (190 DE's) before work @ Beckton.
