Some more: Go-ahead - nights N1 - at MW light from either end, BV buses don't change over N21 - BX buses don't change over (they run out of BX with 1 Driver for all of the shift). NX buses change over outside NX N89 - Outside BX garage N68 - Camberwell Green/Camberwell Road N108 - NX Garage (light from Lewisham) N171 - outside NX N321 - NX Garage (light from either end) N453 - Old Kent Road Tesco? Arriva DT: 286 - Eltham Station 160 - used to be at Queen Mary's Hosp, but I believe is now Eltham High Street?? All buses for the N453 were in and out the garage last time I was there a couple of years ago. The last changeover at Tesco was at about 22.00, the night drivers would bring their first bus in and take another one out, although the first couple of N453 designated journeys from Marylebone were operated by day drivers, running to garage from Deptford. All N453's also ran in at the end of the night shift, they nearly all did 2 round trips.

I would add the ones I know but 'Metrobus' beat me to it in the first post! I would add though that I believe the R7 is at the Orpington terminus and the R5/R10 has changeovers at Green Street Green. I've not looked too closely at the new schedules but I'm pretty sure we're using ferry buses down to Green Street Green at some points during the day. I'll be able to relate some greater detail after I've done the new routes at the end of the week! Forgot that I was going to confirm the R route changeovers! The R7 is indeed on the Gravel Pit Way stand in Orpington. The R5/R10 has most of the changeovers at Orpington Station although there are live changeovers at The Queens Head in Green Street Green. In all cases ferry buses are used to get to and from the changeover points. Usually this is running number TB508 but TB509, TB210 and TB504 are also used. In TB504's case, the driver takes the ferry bus from Orpington Station directly to Beaverwood School to start service on the 638

Added this to the Turns and Observations page also, but it appears Route 37 is using the Nigel Road stop in Peckham Rye for Route 37 in addition to the garage on a more regular basis.

I'm surprised they haven't done this a good while back as it saves on dead mileage between Peckham bus station and Peckham bus depot.

I'm surprised they haven't done this a good while back as it saves on dead mileage between Peckham bus station and Peckham bus depot. It may be more frequent for some reason, but that has been quite a regular curtailment ever since the route moved to Peckham years ago... I don't think SW ever used it (but a lot more buses turned around at Goose Green then...) Buses can start or finish from there. In my opinion it is a bit of a sloppy curtailment... the route should be structured better and changing drivers in the bus station, at least during the day time. The reason it changes at the garage is because there is no link from Peckham Bus Station to the garage, so the 37 creates a shuttle for staff. Bit of scheduling for operational convenience as opposed to customer convenience as the route would lose less mileage if it changed drivers in the bus station and make it more reliable (the garage turn around time withdrawn would give 15-17 minutes stand at the bus station, which is what SW buses used to generally have all those years ago.)

I remember the 37 used to have a stand in Spurling Road on Goose Green (which was also used by Route 176 when it terminated in East Dulwich at weekends) which was removed. Any bus that terminates at Goose Green now parks on Grove Vale on the bus lane which is a regular occurrence on the 40.

The 37 was one of the first routes I drove regularly back when it went along Melbourne Grove (which was a nightmare if you met another bus or lorry on the blind bend with no parking restrictions!) and I was never aware of the Spurling Road stand then, not that I am saying it did not exist ...it was quite possibly there but SW never really told us and I probably never looked at a route record back then (it was all a bit more sloppily managed then compared to now) just was not aware of it. We all used to park up in Lordship Lane back then, I am talking 1996-1997. So it would have certainly counted as a hidden away one!!

The stand on Spurling Road was right next to the EDT pub by the roundabout. Drivers would have to turn into Lordship Lane, then Crawthew Grove into Spurling Road. It was probably axed due to local resident concerns about double decker buses using suburban roads which led to the 63 being able to turn in nearby Forest Hill Road instead of the back streets in Honor Oak. Regarding Melbourne Grove, that street is pretty tight, but nothing compared to what 363 drivers have to contend with on Underhill Road!
