The end is near for the C stock with the trains now only confined to the Wimbleware (Wimbledon- Edgware Road) service.
Two special railtours are planned in conjunction with their final withdrawal. Details below:
The first will be on Sunday 12th April taking the C stock off the routes they usually worked by visiting Moorgate (0955)- Amersham- Harrow- Uxbridge- Acton Town- Northfields- Upminster- Hammersmith (via King's Cross).
A second railtour on the 29th June will the FINAL withdrawal of the C stock. This tour will be run over lines long associated with the class: Hammersmith- Moorgate- Wimbledon- Barking (via Edgware Road) then a full loop of the Circle back to Hammersmith. Once back at Hammersmith it will the end of the C stock.
Tickets, for the April railtour cost £40 and will be on sale from Monday 17th April by calling 0207 565 7298 or visit the LTM website.

Is the date of the tour incorrect - would seem slightly unfair to sell tickets after it has happened ?

The C stock may be around a little longer as our simulators (X2) used for training are defective my training has been postponed with no new dates given as yet so until we have been trained there will be some C stock units plying there trade between Wimbledon & Edgware Road.

Well, I purchased my ticket this morning, Coach F. Rather annoyingly though, I've just realised this is happening the same day as the spring gathering! So it looks as though I'll be giving that a miss this year. If anyone wants to go on the C stock explorer rail tour, I'd hurry up and book your tickets, they seem to be selling fast.

Nah, I rode my last C stock last year - rode 3 in one day. Did Wimbledon to Edgware Road, then took the Circle from Edgware Road to Hammersmith via Tower Hill, then took a boring D stock to Earls Court before boarding the 3rd lovely C stock train to Wimbledon.

Sorry, but when is the last date of 'regular public service' of the C stock? As a driver of said trains we have been told sometime after the timetable change on 18th May (I believe another C stock working is withdrawn in the next few weeks) but as most of us Acton drivers are waiting for S stock training it may be delayed by a few weeks yet.

When will the final railtour tickets go on sale? Need to hang fire on this as the date is still provisional, as mentioned above some drivers are not yet type trained for S stock. Therefore the date may be changed as this railtour will be the FINAL run of C stocks in passenger service. Tickets normally become available a month before the date of the tour.
