Possibly 6123 - LVF shows it stopped at Edgware at around the right time.

Possibly 6123 - LVF shows it stopped at Edgware at around the right time. It's 6123 - the second picture shows the rear bumper with what appears to be the housing for a registration plate even though the rear registration plate is actually underneath the rear lower deck window - I searched for a rear pic of 6123 to see if it has that 'housing' for a registration plate and it matches the pic of the bus on fire outside Edgware Station.

It's a relief to see it's a VLA, not a DLA; and an awful 05 reg and not one of the lovely 55 reg VLAs.

As much as I hate the 05 reg batch, this particular one was a rare example of a good bus from that batch. My first thoughts was a DLA when I saw the title but I breathed a sigh of relief after I saw it was a Volvo lol.

Got to laugh at the comment on the article! "Goes to show how dangerous these double deck buses are !
Time to return to Trolley buses and trams which did not carry inflammable fuel ! "
It's just smouldering I say.
