An LT on the N38 suffered severe frontal damage in a fatal RTA early today London Live are reporting the fatality was in the car. It seems it was the bus versus car. There will be a lot of nervous TfL officials as well as the Mayor of London today.

I don't think they have much to worry about, these things happen and judging by the picture on the bbc website: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-27692120, the bus seems top be well over on the side, where it should be on that road. However, as a regular down that road, there is an enormous bump on the road, around where the accident took place, on the side of the road, heading towards Clapton Roundabout. I have considered on many occasions telling TfL or Waltham FOrest about it, because when the bus rides over it, the whole bus jumps up. It is really bad on the back for passengers and it does damage to the buses, and especially those fragile Scanias on the 48, 55 and 56. I am sure anyone who goes down that way regularly will know what I am talking about.

Unfortunately, and I do agree, it looks like the LT (LT176, for those interested) is blameless from the pictures I've seen, it's another serious incident involving an LT, and until the full facts are known, I would be worried if I were involved in the LT project in any way. It's more bad publicity for the vehicle, whatever way you look at it. Nevertheless, this is an accident that's resulted in a fatality, and our thoughts must be with the victim's family and friends.

Given the damage to the car, it looks like it might have been travelling fast. The police have confirmed no arrests have been made , so from that it sounds like there is no suggestion of fault on the part of the N38 driver.

Given the damage to the car, it looks like it might have been travelling fast. The undercarriage of the bus would have plenty to do with it.

The police have confirmed no arrests have been made , so from that it sounds like there is no suggestion of fault on the part of the N38 driver. Police are investigating reports that the car was involved in a race with another car at the time. It would certainly appear that the driver of the N38 is completely blameless.

I'm going to go out on a limb here. Audi driver going to fast and overtaking and jumping traffic lights.

This was no 30mph collision! irresponsible people tearing up and down in fast cars. no wonder the insurance premiums are so high as accidents like this show. Thank God no Pedestrians were about as this could have been multiple fatality. I have very little sympathy for reckless drivers who put themselves and others at risk. I see this sort of driving all the time, ive been cut up by cars like this filled with friends showing off and laughing as they jump red lights and zigzag around pedestrians on crossings.

My sympathy goes to the bus driver and passengers.
It is rather sad to reflect on all the above posts. Not one person has expressed sympathy for the driver of the N38. For the rest of their life they will be left wondering whether if they'd been 20 seconds early or later they wouldn't have witnessed such a terrible accident.
The passengers may well share the terrible memories.
