Night bus ideas in SE London Reroute N89 between Camberwell and Traflagar Square via Vauxhall, then route 87 to TSQ. Reason: Quicker than current route and N136 from Camberwell/Peckham to TSQ Also reroute N89 between Deptford and Blackheath direct via Blackheath Hill. This results in quicker journey times into central London Reroute N171 between Elephant and Aldwych via current route N89, to retain the New Cross to Aldwych link via Blackfriars Bridge. The N68 also links Camberwell to Aldwych/TCR via Waterloo Bridge 36 withdraw the night route between Queens Park and Paddington. Renumber it N436, operating between Paddington and Woolwich, via current route 36 to New Cross Gate, route N89 to Blackheath, then to Royal Standard, and route N53. Supports the N53 between Blackheath and Woolwich, providing them with an alternative route into central London Not sure what the point of these ideas are? Your N89 change would leave Lewisham without a link to Elephant & Castle at night, and can easily be done by taking the existing N136. What's the attraction in E&C comparing to central London? Besides people can take the hopper fare, it's inconvenient but it could be worse.

E1 should be reinstated at night and 120 should be 25 hours Fri Sat.

120 should be 25 hours Fri Sat. Unfortunately that's not possible because there's only 24 hours a day, unless you propose to take one hour away from Monday and Tuesday

120 should be 25 hours Fri Sat. Ideally the 120 should be 24 hours 7 days a week.

The route carries a lot of low paid workers into that part of London and buses run fairly fast. There are still some postal workers at Mount Pleasant who I used to see on the bus. The routeing via Lewisham enables more people to benefit from the route. The night routes are used by regular passengers who may have chosen to live nearby. I'm afraid your ideas seem to come from looking at a map rather than knowledge of who uses the existing routes. Woolwich is served by the N1 and N53 which is enough,

Although this could be done by extending a night bus from the New Cross area further east, like the 36 or creating a new one altogether

Surely it’s better for a night bus to serve a wider area as possible therefore picking up more passengers and revenue.

It's shame the N271 hasn't extended beyond Finsbury Spuare where it could pick up Borough nightlife crowd or heading to Liverpool Street to serve Shoreditch.

Although this could be done by extending a night bus from the New Cross area further east, like the 36 or creating a new one altogether The journey on the N89 is already fast because there is not a lot of traffic. Users want the access to the City of London area. Very few travel towards Aldwych and Trafalgar Square. It works for the people who use the route. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The routeing via Lewisham allows transfer there to other night routes. (BTW in my early London Transport days in 1972 I was part of a team who surveyed actual users of night bus routes. This led to an expansion of the network which mostly remains today.) Trafalgar Square was a useful point to allow interchange between routes in the early hours. You might be surprised to hear that there is a 486 serving Shooters Hill which meets the last Jubilee line train at North Greenwich (at 01:15).

I'd say the 114 too, at least bring back it's weekend service and extend to Uxbridge I'd just create a N114 and let it run from Mill Hill Broadway to Uxbridge or even Uxbridge—>Ruislip(following route U1) then Ruislip to Mill Hill Broadway(following normal 114 route) then extension to Edgware via Hale Lane(following routes 240/221)
