Just a walk down memory lane
Who remembers some of the crap and crazy bus company colours
Some that spring to mind are
Armchair orange and cream Capital Citybus bright yellow And the Titans on the 41 that were brown, red and white/cream, can't think of the name! Grey green - grey green and an orange stripe - I liked this livery
Cowie leaside with the yellow rear top and sides
Atlas bus all white bus
Any others people can think of?

Some that spring to mind are: Tellings Golden Miller White-yellow-blue London United Grey, red and dark grey London Buslines Yellow and Brown (straight from the 1970s!) London Country Green and Red Westlink Red/turquoise/white Then there was MTL and Stagecoach which used drab allover red, which ironically was replaced with a multicolour one in 2001! And the Titans on the 41 that were brown, red and white/cream, can't think of the name! London Suburban Bus Cowie leaside with the yellow rear top and sides Wings copied this livery vaguely in 2002

And the Titans on the 41 that were brown, red and white/cream, can't think of the name! London Suburban Buses. Owned initially by the same people that owned Liverbus in Liverpool, then both Liverbus and LSB were taken over by MTL. I come from the area that gave us the rather nice Kentish bus primrose/maroon, and Boro'line Maidstone blue/yellow. Some of the lesser known operators were Transcity of Sidcup, who had the 286 and B15 for a time, using a dark green livery with yellow bits, and Crystals who started out cream before going turquoise.

ISC but didn't Grey Green have a short lived livery of orange and white with a dark grey roof? I still think the best livery by miles was London Uniteds on their Ms, light grey upper with a dark grey skirt

I quite liked the Armchair black, red & orange livery so was sad when I learned that Metroline had brought them out and were repainting the Darts & Tridents.
Others I liked were:
The Cowie Red with Yellow stripes - looked excellent on the L's & M's Mitcham Belles White, Blue & Red livery Metrobus Yellow & Blue The 159's Red & Cream branded livery Kentish Bus Cream & Brown Grey Green's err Grey & Green livery London United's Red & Grey with white lines livery

What happened if TfL decide to withdrawn the red rule. Will all this Operators go back to their own colour codes? I wondering.

Mitcham Belle's colour scheme was pretty too. One other that I liked was Limebourne's all over red with dark green skirt. Their logo was quite nice too. The Caetano Compass Darts they had looked very smart in those colours.

Doubtful to be honest unless TfL allowed the bus company name to be more prominent too. Many of the London operators are historically red because their roots go back into LT history. All over red may be dull but it's simple meaning it's easy to maintain. I liked the variety of liveries but then I grew up with a mix of colours even with the NBC being in place. I liked Capital Citybus's livery because I was used to yellow buses in Newcastle. Seeing a yellow bus in Newcastle was a sign I was home and then Stagecoach scrapped the livery.

But in their defence, when they ran RMLs on the 8, they had cream relief bands and gold lettering
