This is just a random thread I thought of. I'm wondering if Wrightbus will see more orders than ADL this time round. In my opinion, Gemini's have always felt more...premium...to me. I didn't first like the look of the rear end of the Gemini 3, but it's started to grow on me now. I had this same feeling when I first saw the previous two versions as well.
I never really liked the E400s. It was only until the Euro 5 versions came out I started to like them a little more. But I still prefer the Gemini anyday. The new E400 MMC doesn't really look much different from the original. I don't think I'll like it any more than I like the current version now.
What does everyone else think? Do you think London bus companies will be looking more to Wrightbus, or stay with ADL?
VOTE NOW!!!

Personally I feel that a more fitting pole would be Gemini3/B5LH vs E400 MMC Hybrid as it makes it harder to pick between the four.

Yeah, you're right I guess. I've edited the poll now.

Enviro 400 MMC for me simply because I easily prefer it compared to the Gemini3 which isn't growing on me. I still think it looks absolutely horrid outside. Inside is fine enough and the one I did ride was quite cool too.

ADL MMC imo, there are far more ADL vehicles ordered than Wrightbus excluding the New Heatmaster I've noticed and I can see it continuing. I have a feeling though the Gemini 3 may become a Go Ahead London favourite.
ADL MMC I know we may see lots of orders from Abellio & Stagecoach. Possibly RATP DEV as well.
As for Tower Transit well 212, 444, 488 I wonder what they will order.
Not sure about Arriva these days.

I'm not going to guess... I mean vote. I do not think there is a new E400 to judge yet. Personally I think the Volvo/Wrights offerings are far superior at the moment, but this is mainly due to the fact that I find E400 suspension, and therefore ride quality, very poor indeed. If ADL have addressed this I may change my opinion, but I don't know yet. Anyway, which bus is better has nothing to do with things (certainly from an aesthetics point of view). It is which bus is cheaper for contracted operations (which is a factor for joint sourcing, like Arriva, Go-Ahead or Metroline do - they let the manufacturers compete for their business). Who knows, Optare or Scania may have success as well.

I'll properly judge when I have a ride on the MMC.
As for appearance, the MMC looks more appealing, though the Gemini 3 isn't too bad.

The MMC just looks better and the upstairs doesn't feel cramp, Hope the air cooling works better than current E400's and hope it doesn't rattle like mad

I think Arriva will go for the StreetDeck in low numbers (mostly London), but even they are ordering more ADL products now. They've fallen out of love with VDL, who made the DB300 / SB200 TT will go for E400MMC's, I reckon

Yeah, you're right I guess. I've edited the poll now. It is still four choices as you still have diesel and hybrid variants for each body type. Anyway for me right now I say the E400 MMC, would be nice imo to see some B5TL & B5LH versions.

Was the current E400 cheaper than the Gemini 2? I assume it was given it's more popular.

Was the current E400 cheaper than the Gemini 2? I assume it was given it's more popular. The euro4 and euro5 engined ADL E400 had the optional spec of the 6.7L engine coupled to a ZF box, which the Gemini 2 bodied bus (DW and B9TL) doesn't offer in combination. This may form part of the Enviro400's popularity with the London firms, which tend to favor the ZF box and often the most economic engine available for a double decker.
