Egh! Those Olympians were weird! Its all about the B7TLs, Tridents, and DB250s You really don't know what your missing - the old buses are always best. Give me Leyland Olympians, Leyland Titans, MCW Metrobus, Volvo Olympians, Volvo B10M's, Volvo Ailsas & Scania N113DRB's over those three buses any day lol. And the Dennis Lance

Albeit I was only 5 / 6 years old when the last of those old buses were still around in New Cross. Although I did like the P3 buses. They were pretty cool I loved it when they strayed onto the 136 from time to time too. I can't remember which bus type it was, but I remember the rear route blind box was placed in the corner of the downstairs window at the back. It was a weird position too.

If my memory serves me correctly they would be the Volvo B10M with the Northern Counties bodywork and the Cummin L10 engine coupled to a three speed Voith. They were basically the same as the NV class that were on the 171 if you remember them, except they were with Volvo engines coupled to a ZF box.

Sounds like the early Stagecoach N-reg VNs to me, that were actually numbered 301 upwards without class codes. My personal favourites were the long-wheelbased low height Olympians used on the 262, 374 and 473 and the Olympians Capital Citybus used on the 67 (they were by far the best in the fleet)

The Q & SW NV's were also beasts too, had many great rides on the 45 & 133.

I used to like them a little too at the time. But I still prefer the more modern buses that came after.
