Lineside fire at Ampere Lane *Tram Replacement Buses* arranged between Church Street & Mitcham Junction as that section of the line is suspended. *TRB* avoiding Ampere Lane tram stop I assume it’s being run by Ensignbus as an emergency rail replacement? No idea sorry, taken from twitter London Tram feed

I dont see how that event can be affecting trams? if the structure on fire is next to the tracks they would be closed- particularly as heat from the fire could damage the rails and OHL. Similarly if there are gas canisters in the building an exclusion zone will be set up, which may include the tram lines I thought it was their Five ways storage facility that had the issues .... was not aware that was theirs as well!

Is there a temporary bridge in place until the new one is finished?

Is there a temporary bridge in place until the new one is finished? It's totally closed even to pedestrians for a few months, it's been closed to road traffic for about three years.

Any idea if TfL are beginning to look at procuring replacements for the CR4000’s? They’re starting to approach 20 years old and whilst they’re still in a pretty good condition following refurb, surely they’re approaching the age where they're considered life expired? God I feel really old saying that the CR4000’s are approaching the end of their useful lives, they're the same age as I am!
